More progress this weekend.
Shifter, master cylinder, brake proportioning valve all mounted.
Verified some things on the racing harness mounting.
K frame notch completed.
Holes covered in rear bulkhead.
Anti-slosh foam added to fuel cell.
Fuel cell cage mostly painted.
Several other little things I'm forgetting.
Lots and lots of bench racing and BSing.
Re: Off-Kilter Racing - '62 Valiant Slant 6 in Kentucky
Nice work all around.
Why such a big notch in the K-frame? Are you planning to use a later oil pan? I would send pictures of that to John Pagel just to be sure he's good with it before you show up at a race and get bad news.
If that doesn't fly, it might be easier to swap in a slightly later K-member. We haven't had much trouble with engine swaps in our '64 Dart, as long as we use a 60-66 A-body oil pan.
Index of Effluency, Heroic Fix, Class C Trophy, now hopelessly gunning for Class B.
Currently 1-2 vs. Team Fairlylame in the Class of 1964 Championships
Re: Off-Kilter Racing - '62 Valiant Slant 6 in Kentucky
It isn't that big of a notch, actually. It does make it easier to pull the engine/trans combo with the hood still on. It is actually more sturdy now than before with the full welds all the way around and being boxed in better.
The gauges are mounted now and we got a nice convex mirror.

I loving this build so far, well done.

Thank you! Pig Pen has really been cranking on the fabrication stuff. I do little ancillary jobs here and there. The other guys are further away, so they send parts.
We're looking forward to getting to race at Sebring!

you know there's lots of room up front for a cheap turbo....

Awesome stuff - thanks for sharing!

Pig Pen is deep into the scary wiring stuff:
I got the fuel and roll over lines figured out:
The carb was missing some parts and had a badly worn throttle plate, so I yanked it all off! We'll hook up some bag pipes in them holes instead... LOL
A buddy of mine builds slot cars. I found an old promo model and had him build one for me.
These early Mopar A bodies (60-62 Plymouth Valiant and Dodge Lancer) are affectionately referred to as "Toads". So we have dubbed this car "ToadRacer".
I found a cartoonist to create a character for us. Hopefully he'll be done in time for Sebring.
