Topic: Unacceptable lack of talentless video.

I've been frequenting this forum for years and am disappointed in the recent lack of "Lack of Talent" videos. Where is all the fun keyboard warrioring on who should have done what in this and that situation?! Seriously though...let's just see some fun highlights from recent races with poor choices.

Sadly, everyone was pretty well behaved at Sonoma this last 12-4-21 and 12-5-21 but we did catch a little action:

Love the ejection hatch on the pickup cover. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8xoHqOfW2w&t=1s

No joke - this is always scary this time of day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-YfhuENUAo

This might have been Randy Pobst driving...only he could make a pass in the dirt there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7GTkJUGMlw

Heads up move by the black bmw to give my buddy room to get through. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ilx_jAF_CM

ok i'll do some keyboard warrioring

21:12 and 12:16. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjLfl4m5g-s&t=1272s these guys got an award for aggro driving.

21:12 was one of our less confident drivers on his first ever lap. trial by fire.

While not everyone is talentless here, In the space of half a lap I get to take evasive action
due to three different cars, each getting progressively more dangerous optimistic.
https://youtu.be/CwPWz3Gxf6Q

  • Cheeky Miata pass at T9 and I had to lift to keep from pushing them around.

  • T2 approach the 998 Leganza forgets to check their mirrors

  • T5 the 46 Nissan(?) decides to recover from their spin by driving across track in front of me.

All part of the Lemons experience.

Wow - that was some odd driving. The guy was definitely fast in the open but the two hits were very odd...the one into the Fiat was crazy. Open track all around and manages to plant into the right rear not to mention a lot of sketchy passes. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing and good piloting...I hate it when people try to go three wide in the bus stop. I had fun racing against one of you guys for a little bit there...your car is quite fast...is that a V8 under the hood now?

Re: Unacceptable lack of talentless video.

Ya, the rest of the team got fed up with the turbo 4, which had a bit more power,
and said, "We want a carburetor and one wire for the ignition."
So, 5.0L transplant/conversion it is. (There are more than wires than just 1, but we kept it to a minimum.)
Now we just need to finish a race from green flag to checkers. We were almost there.

The torque trade off coupled with less blowing up seems like a winning combination. You guys pulled right past me multiple times on straights...I'll try to pull some video later. I'm pretty sure I have some from day 1...unfortunately I forgot to insert the memory card in my gopro for day 2.

Re: Unacceptable lack of talentless video.

Oops, this was me hitting a mustang. In car footage is from the mustang team I hit. I apologized and took 100% of the blame here. Both cars were fine and the mustang definitely had less damage. We had a fender to hammer out. I thought there was a space but I think with the elevation he couldn't have seen me come over the crest. This was the only part of the track where our X1/9 was not butt slow.

Wait, you were driving a racecar, there was an incident, and you said it was 100% your fault?
You…deserve a medal, IMO.  This might be the first time in racing history that this has ever happened, good on you.

I got overly excited because it was the only place where I was faster than others. Too bad it was also one of the worst places to pass.

Re: Unacceptable lack of talentless video.

I feel you there.  I spun our VERY SLOW truck twice in a race last year because it had a few corners where you could carry a lot of speed, which was stupid…. but not quite as stupid as spinning a 3rd time….which I did :-/

The last one was in what would’ve been the middle of my last stint on Sunday, but I told the judge I’d just go back to the campsite and help cook cheeseburgers, he said that was a good idea.

Thanks for sharing. He also would have had a better chance of seeing you if he wasn’t focused on giving space to the Mercedes on his right.

In my experience, the fast places for lo-po handling cars are always the worst places to pass. I hate it (and secretly love it) when you make a really tricky pass in a corner, only for that car to blow back past on a straight. Feels like you need to make your pass at the beginning of a long twisty bit so you have plenty of advantageous corners to build a gap.

That same collision from my POV. Spicy bit at 1:20 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDAYn31moW4

Re: Unacceptable lack of talentless video.

I didn't catch too much action at the recent Lemons race in December...seems like folks were well behaved on my stint. I did catch a nice save when the rain started again:

https://youtu.be/GXJPqyV29qc?t=5440

as well as some nice lemony contact coming out of 11 here:

Anyone else catch anything interesting on their cameras?

Re: Unacceptable lack of talentless video.

Hey Rozap, that was me in the Mustang with my 500ish UTQG tires in my second race ever.  I take it all back, I couldn't tell the difference between a miata and a fiat.  At least my second build is the miata identifying as an impala and the Mustake is now for sale.
