Topic: eBay Motors Finds of the Week - Week of 7/11

Rather than smash a dozen posts into this section, I've decided to just toss them into one topic.

https://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDgwWDY0MA==/z/0eAAAOSwiupiyJPv/$_32.JPG?set_id=880000500F

(1) Your winner is this sweet Manta Wagon with a spare engine. Apple Valley, CA - Ends on 7/15 (Friday)

https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/ukcAAOSwS7RiyHac/s-l500.jpg

(2) Two Packards for sale in Bridgeton, NJ (15 minutes from NJMP!). This '55 Caribbean convertible and/or this '56 Four Hundred could be Lemons' first Packard(s)...they're also late enough that Packard people don't generally give a crap about them. Bridgeton, NJ - Ends 7/15 (Friday)

(3) A 1990 Buick LeSabre with the GM Sound of Power AND a reverse-opening hood just like an E30! Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania - Ends July 13 (Wed.)

https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/HnQAAOSwGC9iykMj/s-l500.jpg

(4) A very crusty '63 Chrysler New Yorker. Rockford, MN - Ends 7/20 (Next Wed.)

https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/-V4AAOSw2IZiyxoy/s-l500.jpg

(5) A 1970 Volkswagen Squareback in a great color. Denver - Ends July 17 (Sunday)

https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/w0IAAOSwElFiybm4/s-l500.jpg

(6) 1970 Mercury Cougar...probably will run for quite a bit of money, but it would look great on a road course. Colorado Springs - Ends July 16 (Saturday)

https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/WqYAAOSwnd5iy2Em/s-l1600.jpg

(7) A stylin' 1979 Celica GT Notchback with window louvres. This thing is sexy as hell. Chandler, AZ - Ends July 17 (Sunday)

https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/iYsAAOSwnAhiyxBw/s-l500.jpg

(8) MGA...or what's left of one. Boyertown, PA - Ends July 17 (Sunday)

https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/HT8AAOSw7mpiy2sP/s-l500.jpg

(9) And now for something completely different: a 2012 Hyundai Sonata GLS. I'd put a 10-year-old—ie Just Out of Warranty—Sonata in Class C. It's got 140,000 miles, a rebuilt title, and is on its third engine...what could possibly go wrong? Fort Lauderdale - End July 17 (Sunday)

methinks the purchase price of said vehicle will not be of concern to the judges as class C domination awaits!

Agreed - you roll up in that thing and nobody will be looking for paperwork or receipts. ( just my opinion...)

Some nice options here!

On the topic of classing (ie the Cougar)...

Our car is at the lower end of C class,... IOE winner...

Even though that's where we are and will likely stay,... I still enjoy the BS judging and bribing the judges.

Eric got some canned haggis at NCM last year, but just wait for NCM this year!  Laird Eric, I need you and Lady Kim Harmon at BS judging when we go through. The bribes I got fer ya gots yer names on 'em... ;-)

Don't sell yourselves short! The Valiant ran a 2:00 at CMP...that's not slow for most of the field, let alone a 60-year-old Mopar. Keep it on the track and you've got a legit shot at C.

The car that won B at Gingerman was an MR2 with a stock engine and fuel tank and a fastest lap in the bottom half of the lap times. It's all about keeping yourself out of trouble and minimizing time off the track.

Good point, and thanks.

We were hoping to push for C class win at CMP with the added power, but it was too much for the wimpy 60 year old 7 1/4 rear end. We're upgrading to a Ford 8.8 for NCM.

If we can win Class C w/a Rover, you can win it with a Valiant!

If you ever find yourself short a driver or with an extra stint to sell, please consider me. I love that car. FrogFace was on my short (long, actually) list of cars I wanted to help bring to Lemons someday and it is on my other list of cars I actually want to own and DD someday. I have liked them since I was little. Weirdly enough.
We met at CMP. I was driving the EVR Dart.

Very cool!  It's nice to put screen names to faces. I've accumulated several Toads over the last few years. I'm up to four currently. Two Valiants and two Lancers. Always looking for more... LOL

Sorry for the thread hijack!  Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...
