I'm so stoked. A really good friend of mine saw my "Warning Shot" to everyone on facebook and instagram that they are going to see an influx of seemingly random selfies.  Asked what I was doing and decided to join in on the fun!  I now have a Co-Pilot.  Anyone know how I go about making it Lemons official? Do I just send him an invite to join the team from the event spot on my account?

Reg is closed and I emailed you, but you can add people on Friday. We just need them to fill out a late-reg form so we have their emergency contact info.

The B20 isn't really the bad part--it needs an alternator, a steering leak needs fixing, the transmission "sticks" in park (so I park it in neutral), rear brake shoes are shot, and it smoked a lot the past few times I ran it (after sitting for months).  A lot of structural rust.   290k miles.  It's one of those things where I could revive it enough to make it roadworthy.

I still don't have Earl Burner running yet. Typical day in the driveway yesterday--an hour job took all afternoon.  But the AC compressor is replaced, and an initial vacuum test shows it's not leaking.  The head's finally going back on today.  And hopefully the rest will go smoothly.

But...the Earl Burner Civic will not be making the rally.  One of the threaded holes in the aluminum block is stripped (makes no sense--the bolts all came out cleanly), and I won't trust a Heli-coil to hold 50 ft lbs. I needed it running today; I can't get a M10x1.25 Time-Sert brought in quickly enough to fix it tomorrow morning and even there, I would have to get a special kit for head bolts since the threads are set into the block vs. being flush with the top (like it was with the timing belt tensioner bolt).

The hillbilly fix is to drill and tap to the next size (M12x1.25), but that's no guarantee it will fit the cylinder head or the head gasket for that matter. 

I needed it running today, as tomorrow was going to be a ball joint replacment and a test run of all the work (up the "thumb" and back).  Wednesday was set for theming and Thursday I'm tied up with work all day, plus getting everything packed.

So I scratch and lose the entry fee...or bring the daily driver, which I DO NOT want to do.

Wow! That's quite a few more than the Rocky Mountain Breakdown (which was 20-ish?).
