Topic: Yokohama support? Nationwide shortage?

anyone know or can help getting some Advan A052's?

Im hearing this may be an issue that's been ongoing for a while, Worried I won't get them in time to T Hill next month.
I have 4 225/50-16 but need 4 205/55-16.

anyone know of anywhere that has a stock of A052's?

Re: Yokohama support? Nationwide shortage?

thanks in advance....;)

Re: Yokohama support? Nationwide shortage?

I don’t know where to get Yokos, we run Hankook RS4… that said, WHY don’t the 225 width work for you? I’m not being snarky, but we have a car that runs 205/55 stock, the 225/50 RS4 fit the wheels and fit under the fenders fine. My street Benz SLK230 runs those sizes as a staggered set from the factory… they’re the same functional rolling diameter. Why not just go with the 225/50 set?

Re: Yokohama support? Nationwide shortage?

Thanks for the reply!

I want to run the 205 in the rear to try as much as I can to get this Audi A4 FWD as far rear bias as possible! The 225 is for the front!

I can't seem to find any rear sway bars for the FWD, so I'm limited to spring rate and tires to get this pig to rotate.

Re: Yokohama support? Nationwide shortage?

Ah, ok. Remind me again what rear suspension the FWD A4 has? I can visualize the Quattro setup, don’t think it’s a twist beam like our Passat, is it? I like the reverse stagger idea either way…

Re: Yokohama support? Nationwide shortage?

Not to mess up your thread too much, but have you tried messing with camber bias, rake angle, tire pressure bias, wheel spacers, or thresh-hold braking to get your car to rotate? There are so many annoyances of staggering a tire setup, and there are dozens of ways to change handing bias. Also, if this is the same wheel width, I think you may be surprised how little changing only the tire width affects grip.

Yeah in the same boat, this isn't what you asked but isn't the rule of racing that reducing grip is not a good way to change balance.

Like less grip = slower, period.

Sorry I know nothing about where to get those tires.   Can you go wider in front?

Re: Yokohama support? Nationwide shortage?

Have you tried searching for rear sway bar info over at vwvortex.com? They have a huge Audi section, and a decent search feature.

Will do, but I won't hold my breath. lol

Thank you for all your inputs. ultimately, I'll have to just drive it and find out for myself eventually!

the add on sway bar to those vw/audi is to add a tube inside the C shape of the beam going across. Need to drill though the C vertically and pin the tube in place to the C. father out you go in the C, so far more to pin, than you get higher sway bar effect.
