Topic: Looking for team members in SoCal

Hey All!

Do you have too much money, too much free time, and a lizard brain? I have just the solution for you!

I'm looking for one or two team members to fill a couple spots on Full Ass Racing. We are a miata team located in Ventura County in Southern California. We are looking for team members, not arrive and drives. We do this for fun, not to win, but we've always placed top 1/3rd and have placed top 10. I don't think we ever will win, so we aren't the team for you if that's important. We are the team for you if you enjoy working on cars, drinking beers, and keeping the car out there at all costs. We aren't the fastest, or run 2 hour stints, but we do have some decent pit stops and will fix absolutely anything very fast and with a lot of yelling and unhelpful inappropriate jokes.

We're looking for someone with a good sense of humor that we'd wanna drink a beer with, whose willing to get their hands dirty during prep and during the race, and keeping it below 90% to keep our car out of the wall. If you're within driving distance of Ventura County, feel free to reach out and come by, checkout the car, and meet!

Thanks,
Brandon

Re: Looking for team members in SoCal

I'm interested in joining you guys. I have a long racing history, starting with slot cars going all the way up to top fuel drag racing. I've hosted my own hot rod tv show, been a monster garage personality, I have lots and lots of car junk, about any tool ever invented and some I've invented. I am willing and able to do whatever is required from crummy welding to sweeping the floor. I live in the city of Ventura. you can call me 805-200-6404

Re: Looking for team members in SoCal

Hey Brandon,

If you're still looking for 2023 team members, give me a message. I don't have any race experience, but I'm a hardware engineer by trade and enjoy working on stupid stuff and good times with friends. I'm in the Thousand Oaks area.

Thanks!

Re: Looking for team members in SoCal

Ahoy DuTheHustle!

I am so interested in joining your merry band at Full Ass Racing!  I live for wacky fun, and y'all look like my kind of riff raff (I've admired your Pinata Miata and paddock antics for years).

I've organized over a dozen world-class crazy-themed Beaux-Arts Balls, Halloween Balls, and Dance Parties since the 1980s, including Buffalo's infamous Lizard Balls and Artist's & Model's Balls (up to 4,000 in attendance, with considerable burlesque nudity).

I've successfuly rebuilt an Integra and a Miata engine, but I am more meticulous than fast, and I cry like a baby without a good shop manual.  I can bring a lot of my own tools, if needed.  I can MIG and stick weld, but I just sold my rig.

I've assertively driven stock Miatas and a stock NSX in autocross/Solo2 with some success, and have had only 1 road accident in over 750,000 miles since '78 (including 23 Buffalo winters), and that was getting rear-ended by a texting-douche-bag.  I had a NYState CDL-S Bus Driver's License in the 80s without incident, so I can drive very large trucks safely.

I've worked as a landscaper, a carpenter and a cabinetmaker for 22 years in Buffalo, then as an award-winning architect in San Diego for the past 23+.  Oh, and I have way too many crazy stories (such chestnuts as: I free-fell 30' in 1984 and walked away, although I had a 3' long 2x2  impaled through my kidney).

I can pay my own way, and a road trip to visit y'all in Camarillo sounds like a blast - I'll bring the cold lagers.  My mobile # is the best way to contact me, via call or text: (I just emailed you my # via the 24HoLemons Forum, subject line "Desperately Seeking SoCal Team").  Which weekend and where should we meet?

Cheers mate,

-Sam "Sam I Am" Bryant

Re: Looking for team members in SoCal

Thanks for reaching out! I texted you back from your email.

For future reference of this thread... team 'A' (Pinata Miata) is full. I'm currently in the middle of either being overfilled, or still looking for people. The 7turdy5i is going to its first race in a couple months at Buttonwillow, after which we are going to decide if we'd like to remain a 1-car team or expand into a 2-car team. With that said, it never hurts to reach out and discuss... even if we're full or not a good fit for you, I may know of other local teams that will fit you, or may know of people/cars you can start a team with.
