Topic: Anyone driving to Road America from East Texas?

And if so, do you have room in your vehicle for a small RWD transmission?

EDIT (7/9/2024): The California to Wisconsin leg appears to be covered, but I still need a team from Texas (preferably near Houston or Austin, but honestly OKC or NOLA would be better than nothing) to pick up the transmission at Road America and bring it home.

Original post follows...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Background: Team Valiant Effort in Walnut Creek, CA (94957) has a Mopar A904 push-button automatic that I'd like to have in Houston. I'm trying to find anyone who'd be willing to pick it up in NorCal and bring it to a race where folks from Texas are also likely to be for a handoff. We've already checked the HPR entry list, and there doesn't seem to be anyone from NorCal going.
But all the cool kids are going to Elkhart Lake in September! Surely you'd like to help ferry a rare, ancient transmission from one IoE-winning Lemons team to another. It might even get you a mention in a wrap-up video or something.
Any other helpful ideas are also welcome. Who knows, maybe you're flying from SFO to HOU next week and have room in your packout box. (Yes, Southwest lets you check packout boxes without any additional fee. How cool is that?)
Re: Anyone driving to Road America from East Texas?
I know of a team that is going from Pleasant Hill 94523 (city next to WC) towing their cheaty-ass BMW in an enclosed trailer.I'm fairly certain they would be willing to oblige,but I can't speak for him.Jimmy is currently in France to attend some fancy-ass race,but I'll talk to him in the next few weeks.
45+x Loser.....You'd think I would learn......
5x I.O.E  Winner   1 Heroic Fix Winner   1 Org Choice Winner
2x  I Got Screwed Winner    2x Class C Winner
(Still a Class B driver in a Class A car)
Hi Big Bird, Can you let Jimmy know I'm right on the edge of Pleasant Hill just up the street from Lundardi's?  I'm travelling right now, but Spacefrank has my email and can pass it along if you need it.
Edit, this is the guy with the /6 trans, I'm located at 94597.
Re: Anyone driving to Road America from East Texas?
First post updated! Jimmy is handling the trip from California to RA, but I still need a Texas team to relay the transmission down here. Houston would be ideal, but I'm not gonna be too picky.
Re: Anyone driving to Road America from East Texas?
You might check with #944 Tom Giertz, he is coming from Sealy TX if that helps, he is active on the Lemons FB groups. Worth a shot to see if he has room…
Re: Anyone driving to Road America from East Texas?
I forgot to update the post here, but Gerry Ringle is taking the transmission from Jimmy and bringing it down to Texas after Road America. I'll pick it up from him the following weekend, since I'll already be in the DFW area for other reasons.
