Topic: Driver looking for seat, Sonoma 2024
Hey y'all!
I'm Keith! I am a driver looking for a seat for Sonoma 2024 and hopefully future events in 2025 (no pressure on your end though, my main focus is getting to Sonoma '24).
I've raced Lemons once before in a Miata, though most of my driving experience comes from FWD cars. I am very familiar with Sonoma Raceway, and I'm also handy with a wrench and would be happy to bring some basic tools.
Okay, here are the juicy details:
- I am currently in HPDE group 3 with NASA, I've been doing semi-regular track days with them for almost 2 years now. But like I mentioned I did race Lemons once before, last year at Sonoma '23. Unfortunately I had a spin and bent the car a bit, but made sure to pull my weight in getting us back out on track (which we did, and were able to finish on Sunday).
- I know Sonoma Raceway very well because I work as a flag marshal there. Sadly I won't be able to get us out of any black flags though.
- I am a very easygoing and easy to get along with person, and I am coming into Lemons with no expectations. I love being part of a team, and I would love nothing more than to get a podium finish, given the opportunity, but I would be just as satisfied treating it like a glorified track day. Either way, I'm here for the love of the sport.
- I have all the necessary drivers gear minus a HANS device, but I should have no problem obtaining one before race day.
- I do almost all my own car work and am proficient enough under the hood. More importantly, I have no issue following instructions and can bring tools; jack, jackstands, socket set, impact gun, drain pan, funnel, jumper cables, duct tape, zip ties (you know, the essentials lol).
- I am but a lowly peasant so cost of entry (or at least my portion of it) will be a factor. I know racing is expensive and I am prepared to shell out if need be, but being realistic and upfront about cost will help me save accordingly.
- I am 6'0" and ~180 lbs no gear, so probably like 6'2" with a helmet and shoes if height and weight matter. I did fit in a Miata though, so there's that.
Please email me at keith_nett@yahoo.com if you are interested, or if you have more questions, or if you just want to chat. I'll be checking my inbox frequently as racing has become my crippling addiction and therapy is no help.
Please and Thank Yous,
Keith
