What could possibly go wrong? Looks fantastic!
It's been done.
I mean outstanding...good luck.
Has someone really run a M-100 Mercedes? How did they do. These cars are really rare. This one suffered an engine fire, hole in the sun roof and mold in the cabin.
Nobody has ever run an M100 engine in Lemons. We've had a couple of W116s with veggie-oil-fueled diesels at Altamont. They did pretty well.
The 6.9 is definitely on our short list of cars we'd like to see in Lemons.
white wall tires on a Mercedes.......... priceless.
i have a 6.9 i was planning to shove in my 108 with a Merc 4 speed.
I have a W112 Coupe that has a M-100 6.3 in it. It's a love hate relationship with everything M-100 and air suspension. Is your 72 300SEL a W108? I thought they were all W109's w/ air suspension.
I feel like we are talking in code.

Classic difference between you and me, I had to go back and look at the tires. I did notice the boots and jeans though.

A fair skinned red head was the death of him.
I am working in Chicago this week. Glen and his girlfriend picked up the car. The first thing they did was change the wheels.
Oh the humanity!

Oh yeah there's a car in the picture too.
it is a 109, my daily driver sled is a 108. I bought the 109 thinking I would swap the air ride over, but after research just replaced the coils on the 108 with bags.
My plan is to pull the suspension on the 109 and sell it to some assuies. From there I'll just swap over some junkyard 108 parts. I have a 4 speed from a 450sl and the rear end and motor from a 116 i junked out.

It must be something about Texas. I still mourn the loss of a fair-skinned Texas red headed lass with cute freckles. Still makes my heart go pitter-pat.
red heads are like that wild horse , beautiful but can kill you with one good buck

You should register for the race as early as possible, so you can reserve the much-sought-after number 69. We'll let you put a decimal point on the door numbers.
Number 69. Done.
An old friend of mine stoped by the shop today to see what was going on. He just about died when he saw the car. He and his wife tried to buy the car from me about 7-8 years ago.
"This is not the same car"
Yes it is, really.
"Oh my wife would kill you if she saw what you are doing to it."
Ya, tell her to get in line. The whole M-100 universe will put a hit on us if they found out.
"Well, that may be. I'd still watch out for my wife. She's going to kill you."
