Duff Beer will be there, with Duff Beer, but not with the Duff Beer car. Getting beat by 30+ laps in class A at the last CMP race made us cranky and whinier than usual, so we drank some Duff Beer and hit CL for a few hours, but nothing in Casual Encounters really jumped out at us, so we drank more beer and tried the cars for sale section.

By my count, we have 109 cars registered for the 2016 fall CMP race.  IIRC, that's up from the last few races at CMP, so I'm happy the attendance numbers seem to be coming back up.

IIRC, at the very first Lemons race at CMP, we had 120 cars and we only used HALF of the course, with a damn CHICANE on the front straight.  Now THAT was a fustercluck!

First couple of races we ran, there were 100 plus cars on the short course at CMP with no chicane.  That is still the most fun I have ever had racing.  I am in the minority of those that want them to bring the short course back!  You planned passes (or being passed) for every car in sight, and hoped that was enough to make it to the next turn.  If you do the high tech math, that is 10 cars per 1/10 of a mile....

The way the cars have improved, you won't see over half of the field fall out like years ago.  It is possible that 80+ cars will still be running Saturday evening.

My first ever Lemons race was the last "short track" event when they had people bring cardboard cut-outs to place in the turn 1 sand trap. Most of them got taken out at one point or another during that race! Unfortunately I saw more of the garage than the track that weekend.

First race ever for Team Diplomatic Immunity. Bringing a 190E, albeit a 2.6L with auto. We're excited regardless of how slow our car will be.
Mechanical work finally finished up this weekend so now it's on to installing our cage and finishing off the tech inspection checklist.
Really looking forward to the race, is anyone else from Wilmington attending?

Hey there! Two drivers from Idle Clatter, as well as one of our cars, are in Wilmington. We race two Mercedes, a w116.120 and a w123.133, while one of our drivers DDs a 190D. There's also a team from Castle Hayne(tortoise themed Crown Vic). Also from the area are Secede Now with their NA Miata and Lancer. Road Warrior Racing with their e30 was from the area as well. I sadly don't remember the team name but there was an S10 firetruck team from around here but I've not seen them in a few races.
