Topic: Harness lap belt mounting--retain free rotation?

My stock seatbelt mounts on the sill and trans tunnel are well positioned to use as mount points for my race harness.  I'd like to use them, but can't figure a good way keep free rotation of the harness end plate.  There's not enough room for a bushing on the bolt because the hole in the end plate is too small.  Are eye bolts and snap end plates my only option?

Re: Harness lap belt mounting--retain free rotation?

If you have the stock seat belt mounting bolts, use those.  They should already have a shoulder on them to allow the harness buckles to mount up without binding.  The shoulders on our bolts were slightly too big for the harness buckles, so we chucked the bolts into a drill and sanded the shoulders down just enough to fit.  If you don't have the stock bolts, you'll need to find some grade 8 bolts with shoulders on them.
