I should have some good video of the back of your car from the 1st stint Saturday morning. We ran quite a few laps together that session.

I think that was Bill driving, we have a lot of video, will post more as I get time. You guys were fast and clean on track btw nice racing with you!
Bill's face in the beginning is great.
LoL - the classic "how the hell does this thing work" face
VKZ24 at around 11:30 into this video I chase your car for a few laps.

Thanks Brett. What time was that? Trying to figure out who was behind the wheel in our car.
BTW, it must be nice to drive 90% of the track in 3rd gear. In our Honda that just ain't happening!

This was around 3:30 Saturday I think.
On Sunday we were driving the whole track except for the back straight in 3rd as we started to loose the 3rd/4th gear synchro, somehow our laptimes improved. I was a little surprised that the engine held together, was hitting 7000 rpm most laps, not bad for a 120k mile junkyard engine with a new timing chain and oil change

It sure looked strong. We only turn ours to 6500 RPM so hopefully it will live longer. This was our 8th race on this engine and it still doesn't burn any oil, and we hope it continues. AFAIK we were FTH for the event (Fastest Time Honda) which we are proud of since ours was the only non-VTEC yo! engine among us. We run the B20 from the old CR-V.

We just upgraded to a VVT Ecotec from a 2010 Malibu, the engines are littering junkyards now and make good power.
Our Video from the only Corvette that happened to be at the National Corvette Museum Motorsports park, Ok so it's not really a Corvette but hey it's kinda close. https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A … G7dSqUyUgZ
Didn't know we were tracking a Fastest Honda in the race stat. The Bumble Bee is a non-VTEC B18. Rotating assembly has 14 races on it and it doesn't burn oil. A little anemic down the straights but fast enough for us. I think our fastest lap time this race was about a 1:57. Wasn't too many years ago that there weren't enough Hondas left at the end of a race to have a stat.

With all the heavy hitters like the AMX, MR2, Cadillac, and Camry, I wanted to say we were fastest at something!

Yeah we are used to hearing "It's a Honda, the head gasket won't last long". I've never seen a car blow a head gasket w/o overheating first, so as long as the temps are in check, I think our Honda, just like yours, will live a longer happy life.
Our car is not the fastest either, but this is our 4th season running it, and we haven't turned a wrench on it during a race yet. We prefer to work on the car at home and focus on driving it while at the race track.
Just curious, when you did your numbers to determine Fastest Honda, how many Hondas were in the field? Sorry to hijack the thread but I know a few from the SouthEast that didn't make the race. Seems like the number of Hondas are growing. I think part of it is that the D blocks are so old that most of us have quit using them. There was the under 2 liter challenge going on for awhile. Maybe we have enough Hondas running to have a Honda challenge???
Heaven knows you have to really really be dedicated to race them.

I know there were at least 5, but the car count was low for this race. I wasn't trying to sound like we have the fastest Honda in Lemons, just that one of our drivers put down the fastest single lap by a Honda in this particular race. As most of us series veterans know, the fastest car very rarely wins the race, as was the case again at NCM.
The South has seemed full of Hondas for the last 2-3 years. This race in particular seemed brimmed with Toyotas, though. You couldn't turn around without seeing at least two of them at any given time.
