Here is the custom fabbed gauge panel in our '73 Super Beetle.
That makes the in car video more interesting...
You know you are cool when the switch panel also controls the transmission.
Hopefully we have resolved why the oil pressure gauge spikes past 100 psi with just a tickle of the throttle.

and too many other projects
Here's a nice one I saw last weekend.
23,884 miles on a Lemons car? I protest!
I'm trying to keep the switches to a minimum so I can save room for critical gauges
such as a Mario Andretti tach (lashed with plumber's tape), a combination thermometer/humidity gauge (with pink plastic housing), a compass (self-leveling!), an altimeter (illuminated!), and, of course, an Aifab Gemini in the stock glovebox radio slot. That last item would probably put me over budget if it weren't broken.
As for the stock gauges, I'm pretty sure the water temperature gauge works. Probably a good thing.
The only gauges that work are Voltage (it IS a British car with Lucas electrics after all) and water temp. No speedometer, tachometer, or failometer.
(if that pic doesn't show, it's here: http://gormlessracing.blogspot.com/search/label/Gauges )
A vid of ours. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxd4XY1a … RHmlKUD7aj
Here's our panels:
Here are ours. One more panel is on its way for the tach, progressive LED shift lights, and a couple more switches in front of the steering wheel. I’ll update this post when i get it in. At least I’ve got our excuse for going 4 off ready- “Sorry Phil, I was doing a quick gauge scan and lost track of where I was going”
The laptop is there for megasquirt.
If I could do this again, I would not get the text etched and infilled. Too many changes on the buildup.
I rigged this up for our old Sentra.

...pretty much the old cool thing about that car.
Love the easy button

Haha, is that a clothes washer/dryer in the back? Is that the container for the fuel cell?

That's getting close to the ol' flux capacitor

Well - yeah.
