I thought practice really ended a little too early for the lighting to be tested last year.  Might be best to have some test so people can get OKed before the race to figure out if they need more, less, or a different setup.

I thought last years race was the practise for testing lights and drivers for this years race.

Actually I'm pretty sure it was to figure out if racing at night was possible withough people getting killed before letting the members do it later in the year.

Has anyone heard anything about black flag rules?  If the team black flag count resets every day at a normal split race, does that mean we don't get a reset during this race because it's continuous?

From what I recall from previous 24 hour races, black flags get reset every 12 hours or something.

At ECR 2012, it was every 8.

We plan on leaving Pittsburgh on Friday morning around 4:30-5:00, anybody traveling W76/80 around then that wants to caravan?

Re: Counting your chickens early: Autobahn 24-hour race in July

Well, i want to head out for the track 6 weeks from right now.

Time to start freaking out.

Re: Counting your chickens early: Autobahn 24-hour race in July

We have a bunch of things that need fixing since the last race.  So far we have accomplished zero of them.  Seems we're on schedule.

Re: Counting your chickens early: Autobahn 24-hour race in July

We are looking pretty good except the fact we have tested exactly 0% of our improvements.  We start themeing this weekend for heavens sake.

Open invitation for any travelling but not bringing RV's with them.  My place is about 45 minutes from the track and I can put up as many sleeping bag toting ruffians as show up Thursday night in air conditioned splendor at my place.  Must REALLLLLLLY love dogs though as at current count I have 340#'s of them.

House will be available Friday night as well but I will call you a pussy if you do not at least hang at the track to party Friday.  Dogs will be at the boarders by then (except our team Captain Wally who will be at the track) and I will be hanging at the track but I will warn the nosy neighbors and give you the door code.

Every time I fix something on this stupid Race Van I find 3 more things wrong. The thing is I have 3 cars ready to go that are a blast to drive. SMH

We enjoyed ours but stock suspensions was scary. We are hoping our suspension mods with the $499.72 residual will change this but I really doubt it will.

My favorite is how many failed wires wires, not connectors, just mid-harness that we have found.  That and the rust...oh the rust.

Are you running a 5mge?

If so I'll leave just enough turbo swap parts right by your pits to start you making some bad decision.

Re: Counting your chickens early: Autobahn 24-hour race in July

Yes, running a 193k mile 5MGE. I AM looking for some engine parts for a "spare" that I'm rebuilding. 85 oil pan and pump, metal coolant pipe that runs around the back of the engine, and a knock sensor.

Phil won't give us any room in a residual to add "go fast" parts  : (

… turbo, eh?

Re: Counting your chickens early: Autobahn 24-hour race in July

So what are the track facilities like at Autobahn? Are there showers? Does it have a snack shack open during the afternoon or do we have to cart in our own food?

Autobahn has pretty nice facilities. There are showers in the main bathrooms by the tech shed, there might be another one in the north track bathrooms. And there's a food shack by the round-about.

Fourteen time loser. You'd think I'd know better by now.

Well I have all 7M stuff... so i have an extra 7M coolant pipe i can bring, if it's the same you can have it. Maybe I have a knock sensor too, I'll look. I have an extra oil pump but the pickup will be in the wrong spot, mk3's have a mid sump.
