She doesn' "allow" Lemons, she is part of it!

I'll just leave these here...

Is it OK that I am a little in love with her now...being a bald, old fat man with too many dogs?

Yes it's okay.  I realize how amazing she is and how lucky I am.  Even more awesome is thatt we get to raise our daughter in this amazing world and she will grow up with mom racing cars, flying and jumping out of planes, getting her masters, etc.

you forgot to mention that she is fully capable of and qualified for jumping on my back in the paddock to fix the soreness caused by alleged superman leaps from racepad pyramid saturday nights.

Re: Why my wife rules

I got lucky enough that my old lady (and no, she doesn't mind that I call her that) is almost as deep into racing as I am.  She's one of our drivers and she's not afraid to get her hands dirty.

She's also willing to put work into repairing damage incurred while she's behind the wheel.  She made a very optimistic pass at TH a couple years ago and did quite a number on our RF fender.  We purchased a replacement (a lovely shade of green) and she sanded it down to primer and painted it white, ready for replacement.  She didn't look particularly happy at the time, though...

She's also the one that makes sure we actually eat food and drink something other than beer while slaving away on the car.

I think I made out alright in this deal...

Yea, I'm just hoping beyond all hope that mom's genes are stronger than dad's.

My wife replaced and painted a fender I crumpled.  She will never let me forget that.  She can do that because she has never had contact in the race car.  My tow vehicle is another story...  :-)

Your wife sounds great and all, but what I'm mainly getting out of this picture is that you made an auto rotisserie out of two engine stands and a ratchet strap. I love this.

I pray to all of the gods and, the power of Greyskull, that my daughter does not look like me. That would be a very, very rough childhood for a little girl!

Yeah, I wasn't too enthused about the cost of a purpose-built rotisserie but our car needed a lot of work all around.  And HF engine stands are cheap

I bought 3, using one for extra material to splice into the other two to make them tall enough for the chassis to clear (chinese steel is different dimensions than US steel, so it was a lot easier than trying to find local material).

I had to adjust the angle to zero (level), because the stands are normally angled backwards a bit to help center the weight of a block over the 3 wheels of the stand.

The ratchet strap was born out of pure laziness; I didn't feel like fabbing up a connection between the two out of steel.
