Any Blaxplotation theme.  Here is a list of Blaxplotation films : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_b … tion_films

there was one used in the Terminator.

The Interntnet Movie CAR data base. http://www.imcdb.org/

I say just merge as many blaplotationa and 70s cop and action shows and movies togethre to spit out a generic 70s action theme.  Build a wall of cardboard boxes to drive through to get into bs.  Have 70s theme music blaring at all times.  Never break character.  The Judges are now just Jive Turkeys, Jay or Nick will only be refered to as the Man cause he is holding you down.  If you can queue multiple theme songs so you can change the mood when you have to it would be great, cause you wouldn't want chase music going on while you are having a tender heart to heart moment in the penalty box.

Oh and remember long rhyming monologues were all the rage back then, and somehow considered really funny if the Human Toronado is anything to go by.

Nicely played, sir.  Nicely played.

You could put a big tutu on the car.

Re: Uncreative But Crappy Team Needs Theme Ideas for Butt-Turrible Car

I'm liking the French Connection and Landau Ballet.

But you've already got your theme:

You just need a bunch of mannequins or fill some jump suits/clothes with expandable spray foam. Play Springsteen's Gory Days from a loudspeaker...

Re: Uncreative But Crappy Team Needs Theme Ideas for Butt-Turrible Car

Might be hard to get all those mannequins to stay on the car at 110 mph.

Yes, we go that fast.  In a freaking 1975 Ford LTD.

Yes, we're crazy.

From Wikipedia

"The expression "Spandau Ballet" was slang used by Allied troops in the trenches in the First World War referring to the twitching of the corpses hanging on the barbed wire and repeatedly hit by Spandau machine gun fire from the German lines. The name also refers to Spandau Prison and the many hangings there, especially in 1945–46 of Nazi war criminals, when the victims would twitch and jump at the end of a rope."

Re: Uncreative But Crappy Team Needs Theme Ideas for Butt-Turrible Car

I always thought that if we did a big car, then we'd do a Deathmobile, complete with Eat Me float breakaway covering. The float cover would probably be for paddock use only, pretty sure tech would be too uptight to approve jettisoning major chunks of theme material on track. Either that or race as float on day 1 and Deathmobile on Day 2. Float racing trim would probably be very speed limited, something like Speedycop plane or Fuego speed, then jettison it and haul ass on day 2.

But given the last 6 years of our Lemons racing, we'll probably just keep fixing this stupid Civic and racing it.

Everybody grab your brooms, it's shenanigans!

Is it bad that I instantly recognized what movie that was from, even though it's been a decade since I've seen it?

Fourteen time loser. You'd think I'd know better by now.

You are correct sir.  When I first heard the source of the term "Spandau Ballet", I wondered how a band that sings such fluffy music would choose that as their name.

Re: Uncreative But Crappy Team Needs Theme Ideas for Butt-Turrible Car

NPR is doing a piece on Spandau Ballet, coincidentally, today.
