adding some flare to the project
I'm going w/ a Mach 5 theme.
Some more pics, sort of haha.... It appears with all of this white powder that I might be making a delorean

I seriously considered doing that or even the Green monster car from death race but this is going to be something else.
Got some new shoes for it's feet
Also got a little bit of work done on the center gauge panel. It's not bolted in yet or painted but it does fit pretty well, looking at the pics, I may round the bottom edges a bit to keep from sticking a thigh into the corner in case of an accident

That is so cool!!!!!!! Is that the high top tennis shoe Gremlin under all that wookie fur? Hahaha
Been a slow process on the car with the injury to my arm and wrist but I have managed to work on the dash console a little bit. It is just sitting in there right now in that it should tuck under the dash at the top but I'm just in the mocking up stage right now. And yes that is an old AM/FM/Cassette Alpine stereo from back in the day. I saved room at the top of the plate for a kill switch, fire suppression pull and possibly gauges. And yes it is for the theme that I'm doing. Be there at CMP in September and you'll see why
I do hope to have a lot more done this weekend, but don't think this is all I'm doing, the theme is coming along nicely.
There is a possibility that I may show up for a practice day at AMP in June too
Well I did manage to get the fire system in the car, (took a lot longer than I thought)
There are two more nozzles one under the dash aimed at the feet and another aimed at the torso, this one is aimed high to get the chest area.
Also trying to decide on where to mount the other pull handle for the fire extinguisher. I'm thinking to the right of the kill switch that I'm going to mount on the plate above the radio, maybe near the top of the plate?
Just noticed that I never posted my nearly finished modified fender
Yea Old Can of Bondo
Inverting the flare of the fender
welding the cuts up
Almost done sanding this mess off
Started on the back of the car now:
Got a few extra pieces off that were an over design by Mazda
Got the rear spoiler framed out
Added some foam to it
Started sanding it into shape
Some more pics, sort of haha.... It appears with all of this white powder that I might be making a delorean
Hahahahha. If I would have had a drink in my mouth it would have been spit all over.
Quick question, How many of you guys run dual cutoff switches? I want to put one in the center console above the radio in view and reach of the driver plus one over by the passenger side so a corner worker could access it.
It is a Miata, there is no place in it a corner worker cannot reach.

Well that's true. When you can wash the whole car and never move from one spot you might have a tiny car. hahaha
Almost done sanding this mess off
This photo makes it look like you're turning a Miata into a Javelin!

Hmmmmm Japanese Mad Max theme with a javelin wanna be car? What could possibly go wrong
I did manage to do some carving on the rear foam yesterday
So My Lemons car started foaming at the fenders:
1) That rear wing kinda reminds me of a viper. You going to a mini-viper look?
2) considering adding a harness so your center gauge panel is easily detachable. I'm now going through my dash again and with only one gauge, having a few wires running from the firewall to the panel wasn't a big deal. With 6 or so gauges now, it's a giant PITA to remove the panel in case one needs to go back there. Don't make more work for yourself and do it right the first time.
