So, there has been a report from, Silversleeves "Racing" - Seattle Division... The news is not good.
Turns out our V6 Cologne engine is more "Hai Karate" than "Polo"...
She is kaput, an anchor, a big paperweight....
We had a team meeting and decided that we will find a suitable replacement and work to get it on track for 2017. So she has had the roll of shame out to the corner of the yard where she will sport a green tarp until an engine presents itself.

Hey, a Taunus V4 should bolt right up. I just happen to know a guy in Seattle with connections in the SAAB 95/96/97 community.

You sure? No parts available or components broken? If the head is cracked on the Previa, I am going to convert it to diesel.
Euro ford so lots of things are different, will be much cheaper to get an NA V6 out of an Explorer, Ranger, etc... than to fix this pos

Yeah, European component change, let's take a Dana 44 and change the pinion bearing and ring gear bolts and give those Colonists something to complain about. What's a readily available wheel bolt pattern, 4 3/4 Chevy, but let's increase the center hub diameter so you can't use Chevy wheels. Thanks Oliver. On the flip side that 4.0l has LS architecture (aluminum block, main girdles, structural pan) at a time when Detroit was revamping a motor from the time of Sputnik for fuel economy.

If you must, but to sweeten the deal on the V4 option I believe I can get ahold of one of these fancy two-barrel intake manifolds:
Hmmm, V4 eh, that's 1/2 as many moving parts as a V8, so naturally it will be twice as reliable.
But fancy 2 barrel intake? What sort of Cheaturz do you take us for?
