Re: Sears Pointless: Are you ready?
Looks like we all need to add new wipers and some Rain-X to the list. As of today the forecast is for rain from Fri through Tues

Weather's a funny thing around here.
We'll know Saturday Morning.

Exactly, when has the weatherman ever forecasted the weather right?
Mounting the "decorations" is our last big challenge. But it'll get done. And it'll be spectacular.
cya guys in a week.
hah! I thought you said you'd seen the car today. Suuuuure, just the decorations left. Yup, that's all. Car's aligned, battery isn't totally dead, ghetto strut work all dialed in, and huge tires/rims all fit perfectly.
Wait a sec - isn't it *your* job to worry?
KT
Well, we identified the cause of our sloppy steering. At least the brakes have new lines and fluid in them.
And we're looking forward to the rain in the fine motorsports tradition of erratic no-hopers driving underpowered ill-handling cars who are excited to see everyone brought down to their level. This assumes we can get our windshield wipers functioning. With the steering wheel off maybe I can wire them to the horn switch or something.
You appear to be missing a sector of your sector.
Welder and a grinder...Get down!

Race ready!!

Hey look, negative offset wheels on a ZX2.... it's like I've seen that before in another thread.

I thought the wheels had to be inside the bodywork to reduce the side hit-rollovers?? Like the video from last race?
Was just about to say the same thing, although I don't think it is a rule, just empirically unsafe. Didn't a car just go airborn in Houston because of tires sticking out past the fenders?
Take along a big hammer and a crowbar, just in case you have to do some rapid fender flaring!
where do you get a set of diamond wheels for free?
where do you get a set of diamond wheels for free?
I didn't get them for free. They were about $500 including shipping.
But, wheels don't count the budget!!

These are 95% likely, 'only for show'.
We have 6 205's mounted on stock rims!

carry a wood baseball bat. stick it between the tire and the fender. roll the car slowly and let the barrel of the bat massage the fender lip.
it works
It's beyond rolling...
I had a sawzall thing going on.

ahhh. well, just trying to use the old school stuff the family showed me back when i was little.
the offest you have is nowhere near what the guys in houston had. their's were out a good 3 inches, if i remember right.
I have 225's in front and 245 in the rear on 8" rims, 4 inch backspace.
Barely fits on the trailer!!
KT
ouch!!!!! well, you'll have good traction, until you hydroplane or go flying........

that is a deal, it will help your car hugely in the corners, hope the rain stays away though...
