Yee-Haw 2013 No trophy -26 laps, I think I see a pattern here
Gator-O-Rama 2014 "Waiting for the Last Minute Call from the Governor Award" -who's counting? John

So there have been a few limos, right? But how come no one has made the convertible FWD Oldsmobile Toronado limo from the Bee Gees version of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band?

First the Disco Godfather, and then this? What criteria do you use when searching Netflix, anyway???

Makes my wish for a Warren Zevon theme, as a general thing,  seem simple. Dress up as the Werewolves of Lemons, get sponsorship from the Hollywood Hawaiian Hotel, print "Send Lawyers, Guns, and Money" across the top of the windshield, and if you want to go in for the dummies/mannequins aspet of theming, then have Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner stand atop the roof.

Lately my only criteria is 1978-1980. I'm looking for possible new themes for our car.

Re: Themes you'd like to see done

What would the Lemonistas think about a "Judge Phil" theme?

Everybody on the team dress up like Judge Phil.  We can get the awesome hats and robes, then add in either REAL facial hair or fake.  Finally, we will talk about old American cars and obscure Volkswagen based sports cars during B.S.

What say you?  Will it piss him off, or will he love it?

I think he would enjoy it, I think the only things that upset him at races are, bad driving, speeding in the pits and lying.

It has already been done. IIRC it was a VW Rabbit with a big handlebar mustache on the front.

Re: Themes you'd like to see done

Some team did do a "Lemons Judges" theme.  They all wore robes and wigs and had printed masks.  I know there was a Judge Phil and Judge Jonny but don't remember who else or what team it was.  I don't think anyone's dressed up as all Phils.  That would be cool.

The "Speed Holes" team also did it to their AMC Marlin in 2011 - handlebar mustache, Phil-esque hat on top of the car, logos of obscure, failed, and/or Eastern Bloc auto companies...

Wow, I am an idiot.  I was at that race with the marlin.

Was that the year they used two 3800 superchargers?

Eh, we may do it again anyway.

Yep, that was the double-supercharger year. Luckily for my hearing I was 50 yards away when the plenum blew.
I asked this year, and they did still have the rebar framework for the hat though the canvas had apparently deteriorated. Maybe they'll pass it along to you if you ask.

Seriously, why hasn't Spank done the Prisoner theme yet with his Moke? Get the Model T GT guys to make it up as a Lotus 7 and you both are golden

Because Lance has at least 1 ball, which is more than can be said for BMW and Miata teams.

Prisoner theme

Honestly, I've never seen it. And it's not enough of a sight gag. If I ever get the 3-engined mini done, I'm doing The Italian Job theme, though.

I think I'm refining my theme criteria down to:
"Does it communicate from 100yrds away at 60 mph?"

You've never seen it? Its like an awesome combination of Star Trek and The Fugitive, only British and its the swinging 60s. All the action takes place in a village in some seaside resort, but everyone seems to be trapped there, though some don't seem to mind.  Its steams online or on your TV for free via Crackle.com

Prisoner theme - so you want to race a Lotus Seven in Lemons?
I really liked the Prisoner series but it kind of just ends abruptly.

I was thinking something like the Model T GT would be a decent Lotus 7 approximate

Lemons hates popular shows but, did anyone do a Simpsons theme with the Pink Sedan/1973 Plymouth Valiant that Homer drives?
