What to put on the tombstones? Hmmmm....
Anybody ever done a Popeye theme?... It would be a great theme for a '69 Toronado armed with a 455, lots of caster, and a manual steering rack.
Better stock up on that spinach, though...
What to put on the tombstones?
Pepperoni and sausage
Why hasn't a VW bus been done yet? Nowadays, you're assured a 50% chance of encountering a Delorean time vehicle at any Lemons race, which you can chase until they do 90. Somebody make a lybians bus, and I'll give you a shoddy bomb casing filled with used pinball machine parts!

Probably just as likely you'll end up chasing a Tempo decked out like a Delorean:

What about Clyde Torkel's Chicken Pit? dress up like chickens like they did in Stroker Ace....FASTEST CHICKEN IN THE SOUTH....
Been done. There's a Chicken Pit Thunderbird that ran at ECR last year.
I'll also second the 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 sedan from Army of Darkness mentioned earlier.

Ok, This may be a bit obscure (read old) for some of you out there, but someone needs to do a Harold and Maude theme.
Just dress everyone in black and talk your grandmother into crewing for you!

Doesn't that make it gross(er) if it's your grandmother?

Glad you added the (er)!
I've also tried to convince our team to theme our beetle like this:

Since "pussy wagon" has already been done, I was thinking maybe "The Ladybug"? Not sure if Jay would pass it through BS inspection, but would enjoy seeing the look on his face!
I know that Autobot Ratchet (I think) was mentioned, but I'm surprised I haven't seen more Transformers themes.....
I'd love to do one.
We need a wolfmobile stationwagon.

Grave digger was the other possible theme for our Volvo wagon. We ended up not doing it, because so much of the graphics are in the area where the rear windows used to be.
I was set on a Crosley before I got the 360, Grave Digger would be THE theme for that car.

UGH Please nobody do GraveDigger....I really dont wanna let the cat out of the bag but thats what we're doing for Capitol Offense!

Too soon?
I think now I'm going to go with this:
Now, am I more of a Bender the Robot, or Prof. Farnsworth?
The Prof., if only because then you could preface every update on the car with "Good news, everyone!"
Somebody had better be bringing this theme to the Shine Country Classic!

Wait.. the *end* of the world *begins* on May 21st? How does that work?

From my extensive research I believe this is how it starts
That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane -
Lenny Bruce is not afraid. Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn -
world serves its own needs, regardless of your own needs. Feed it up a knock,
speed, grunt no, strength no. Ladder structure clatter with fear of height,
down height. Wire in a fire, represent the seven games in a government for
hire and a combat site. Left her, wasn't coming in a hurry with the furies
breathing down your neck. Team by team reporters baffled, trump, tethered
crop. Look at that low plane! Fine then. Uh oh, overflow, population,
common group, but it'll do. Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves its
own needs, listen to your heart bleed. Tell me with the rapture and the
reverent in the right - right. You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright
light, feeling pretty psyched.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign tower. Slash and burn,
return, listen to yourself churn. Lock him in uniform and book burning,
blood letting. Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate. Light a candle,
light a motive. Step down, step down. Watch a heel crush, crush. Uh oh,
this means no fear - cavalier. Renegade and steer clear! A tournament,
a tournament, a tournament of lies. Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives
and I decline.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
The other night I tripped a nice continental drift divide. Mount St. Edelite.
Leonard Bernstein. Leonid Breshnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You symbiotic, patriotic,
slam, but neck, right? Right.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine...fine...
I think now I'm going to go with this:

Nope. But why not just shoot the car a bunch of times?
It would be doubly funny if the team did up their pit to look like a high-walled compound.
