Just think of this as a old 5er,  They can handle very well with simple tires and suspension upgrades,

Owner says runs but doesn't idle. comes with Manuals and spares.   Misses told me NO.

How it could look and just add your cheaty version of a 24V or old skool M30B35 with a 5 spd...

Re: 73 BMW Bavaria Chelmsford Ma 1.5K

Those smog era Zeniths were fussy.  And this has two of them.

1990 RX7 "Mazdarita"  1964 Sunbeam Imp (IOE 2013 Sears Pointless) 2002 Jaguar x-type (Winner C-Class 2021 Sears Pointless)
Gone bye-bye
1994 Jaguar XJ12 (Winner C-Class 2013 Sears Pointless)  1980 Rover SD1 (I Got Screwed 2014 Return of Lemonites)

Re: 73 BMW Bavaria Chelmsford Ma 1.5K

It’s the Zenith carbs and not the rust you’re concerned with?

The pic shows a very crunchy drivers side, fender, doors, rockers etc.

I had one and loved it but that was almost 30 years ago' can attest to the handling being near-cheaty. Nice cars that never got their due.

We raced a BMW 2800 at one point and sold it to another team. If its like a 2800, don't let it get hot at all or you will lose a head gasket

1992 Saturn SL2 (retired) - Elmo's Revenge -  Class B winner, Heroic Fix winner x2
1969 Rover P6B 3500S(sold) - Super G-Rover - I.O.E Winner, Class C Winner
1996 Saturn SW2 - Elmo's Revenge (reborn!), Saturn SL1  Dazzleshipm Class C winner
1974 AMC Javelin - Oscar's Trash heap - IOE,”Organizer's Choice" and "I got Screwed" award winner

FTFY.

Yes, the 2800 six is the earliest of the modern BMW 6 cyl family (the big M30 in this case)… and they were known for cooling issues. But to some degree, I’d rate all BMW sixes as marginal in this regard. At any rate, even when I owned mine in 1994, many examples had already had engines replaced with late model M30 long blocks. It goes right in and offers 3.2/3.5 displacement and a healthy bump in torque/hp. Found in 5 series through the 1993 e34. M50 24v sixes are a solid choice also.

We ended up finding a wrecked late 80's 635 and swapped all the running gear. We went from Class C to Class A in one race. I think swapping the rear end alone saved like 300 lbs of weight..lol

I guess I was commenting on why it wouldn't idle.  I assume crunchy in all of these E3/E9's.  Standard equipment.  Besides what you can see I'm sure the rear shock towers have left the chat as well.  I still think there's a lot to work with here for $1500.  I didn't have the space at the time but the yard I got the Rover SD1 from also had a free Bavaria with a cracked block.  I posted it up somewhere but no one bit.  Well, the Cerveza guys asked long after it had gone to the crusher.

Re: 73 BMW Bavaria Chelmsford Ma 1.5K

Who pays asking price for a craigslist ad?  Most are just imaginary dream numbers to pay a bill.  1.5K would have been a good number in the mid nineties for me it's please drag it out of here so my wife stops squaking at me about want the garage space back for her car.
