Topic: North Georgia team looking for members

GLHS Racing is looking for 2 team members. We are in Gwinnett county and run a small FWD car. Small to medium size drivers fit best. If your a big guy your tolerance for feeling cramped needs to be high.
We are a well funded team that finds its self short on drivers and helping hands. Contact me for more information

GLHS as in the real, honest to goodness Goes Like Hell Still GLHS!?

I would love to be involved in that effort. I’m in Fayetteville though… :-(

Re: North Georgia team looking for members

Yes it is. It’s been swapped to a 2.0 DOHC now. Tired of turbo unreliablabilty

Re: North Georgia team looking for members

Smart move.  I've got a couple Rampages if you ever feel so inclined.

I'll shoot you an email to see if I can be of any help. I would love to drive with you too!

Re: North Georgia team looking for members

Definitely would love to get behind this effort. Haven’t been involved in a Lemons race as of yet but trying to get into the sport. Based in Middle Tennessee, so not too far from GA. Can help out with whatever is needed

Re: North Georgia team looking for members

I’m in Gwinnett county, at least an hour from the N Ga border ….  I was making 2 hour each way trips to SC for work days when the team was based in SC before I bought it

Re: North Georgia team looking for members

Hey, I'm a medium sized driver based out of ATL so I'm about half an hour away from y'all. Would love to get involved in Lemons this year so feel free to pm me or email at lukewiliamlaw@gmail.com if you need an extra driver and some helping hands.

Re: North Georgia team looking for members

Are you guys still looking for drivers and/or helping hands?  I would like to get involved in Lemons racing.  Any plans to do the upcoming Road Atlanta race, or do we still need to recombobulate the car first?

I’m going full speed ahead trying to get the engine back together.  Having a work day this Sunday afternoon. Crank is in an bedplate is all torqued down. Need to do oil pump get it on engine stand, install pistons, and hopefully get front gears on and rear seal in
Any driving experience? Do you know lefty loosey righty tighty?

Re: North Georgia team looking for members

I've been doing SCCA time trials since 2018 and track days in between.  Only crashed once.  Never rebuilt an engine, but I've kept my Subaru running.  Rebuilt brakes and suspension multiple times.  I can read a book and bolt things together.  Email me at gtg463q@gmail.com if you would like me to help.

Re: North Georgia team looking for members

I have never raced a Lemons race but looking to get into it. I know a decent bit about cars and do have a racing background from dirt bikes to street bikes to go karts and now cars. I am new to Georgia so I'm not sure how far Gwinnett is from Braselton but, I am the manager of Caffeine and Octane's Lanier Raceway. So, if you know where that or Road Atlanta is and want to pick me up as a member I would love to join

Re: North Georgia team looking for members

JCH - I am looking to join a team.  I have raced at Road Atlanta many many times.  However on 2 wheels.  I know a little trick at Road Atlanta that worked well for 2 wheels (that not many realized), but would work even better for 4 wheels.  I'd love to see if the trick pans out.  I'm very familiar with the track.

I am a big guy though, with a very high tolerance for cramped spaces.  I love small cars.  I owned an FD3S that I autocrossed a lot with.

I have very good car control, but an even better mindset, in that I believe that you can't win if you don't finish.  So one has to take care of their equipment to make it to the finish line.

I live in Peachtree City, GA, and am VERY mobile.  I'm interested in joining the team and contributing.  I'll contribute any way I can.  Not just driving.  It is your team / your car.  It is up to you if I drive, but I'd like to contribute, in any event.

I also have a couple tow vehicles, 1 in particular is VERY capable, if that is of any importance.

I'm betting you can find my email address by my username.  Let me know if you have any interest.

Thanks!
