1991 Ford Escort (CURRENT Lemons RACECAR)

24hrs of Lemons car / champcar. Has been in the series of Lemons for 10+ years. Our group of rookie drivers picked up ~1year ago from (two many wheels racing), and have been able to put over 24 race hours (last race CMP Lemons 2024) on vehicle since motor rebuild. Only reason for sale is to pursue RWD time attack/champcar.

Engine: 1997 2.0L block, bored, decked, and honed .030 over, new Mahle pistons, Clevite main and rod bearings, ARP head studs, 1989 GT cylinder head, flat tappet cam. Runs off a set of GSXR 600 Mikuni carbs

Other: summit racing ignition box. Escort GT long tube header and 2.5in exhaust. Mazda front spindles and brake pads. Escort GT rear suspension. Hawk pads

Equipment dates:
-Harness - 2025
-Fire bottle - Oct 2025

Spare parts: 2 transmissions, block & 2 cylinder heads, brake pads & rotors, 2 sets of wheels (both with > 1/4in tread), driver & passenger axles, struts, radiator, misc gaskets, ball joints, bearings

I gotta say...that's a wild engine build. It's probably not a "$500" build but it also probably passes the Just Weird Enough That Judges Won't Care test.

If I was guessing, this is the old Questie's Revenge car or its sibling (whose name I don't remember offhand). Those were Top 10 cars when they ran Lemons and probably still could be. With the EGT rear discs, this thing will stop like just about no other car in Lemons.
