Thanks for all the suggestions, but we will most likely be running the stock motor for this race. We'd like to give that a shot and follow the spirit of the race and if that blows up spectacularly in our face (a highly plausible scenario), we'll use our residual price to figure out an engine swap.

We did manage to get a little work done on the car this week though, we gutted the interior.

I'm jelous reading about your no adhesive.  You just remove the screws holding the trim on and it really comes right out?!?

I talked to a guy and he said it was called "h molding". The "legs" of the h straddle either side of the body and the other two legs straddle the glass. There wasn't any trim either, we just used a razor blade to cut the rubber molding enough to pry the glass out.
