Yea I know its no longer a contact sport. But look at the BBQ Kudzu e30 at CMP. they got hit in the back end hard enough to push in the rear quarter about 5 inches and bend the exhaust. We know what happened after that.
After getting bumped by a van in a classic Mini at 20 mph.. and seeing the damage that was done. I would be apt to do a little reinforcement.
