Topic: Rover SD1s Houston $1,500

Lack of time means I have to part with my Lemons race SD1.  It currently does not run, but I am including a complete SD1 with a good engine in the sale, it previously raced in California.

Racecar:

Parts Car:

The Racecar is manual transmission with a spare gearbox (the parts car is an automatic).  Many spare wheels are included, some with tires.

Swap the engines and you have a working racecar and a spare engine which can be rebuilt.  Lots of stuff on the parts car to sell off.  Parts car even has a title.

I can deliver everything in Houston.  The parts car is very solid.

Call me at 713 204 4008.

Re: Rover SD1s Houston $1,500

Price dropped to a bargain $1,500 for a fully prepped race car and a solid parts car.

That is a great bargain. Too bad you are in Houston, we need to figure out a solution to our Rover transmission woes (i.e the BW35 keeps blowing up) and having the SD1 auto or stick would make our lives a LOT better. If you have any thoughts of selling off a spare trans, let me know.

The spare trans is noisy.  FWIW, it's the same trans as the TR7 but with a different bellhousing and throwout bearing arm pivot pedestal.  I think I had 2 trans but only 1 V8 bellhousing so the spare is missing the piece you need.  The problem with that trans is that is uses an internal oil pump that has plastic gears.  Guess what fails.  I suspect you need to be careful to warm it up first as it was kinda cold at night at Miller where it started to make noise.  I believe The Wedge Shop has a kit that solves the oil pump gear problem.  (The white SD1 used to be mine).  The car should also come with the brackets to mount XJS brakes to the front.

The bell housing on the auto actually unbolts from the transmission. If the manual does the same thing that would be a non issue. We have two bell housings. Someone is getting a good deal.

Yes, the bellhousing unbolts.

Bump, not going to get round to this anytime soon, family and work in the way.  Plenty of time to get it sorted for MSR in November (if you do not have family and work in the way).  Text me at 713 204 4008 or email me at peter.barrett@gonenotgone.com.
