Topic: Crapcan relay service

I'll have an empty 20 foot enclosed car trailer headed west from VA to AZ sometime this month. I can deviate from the direct route a bit and I have no particular schedule, but the rig is too big for the Tail of the Dragon and only two wheel drive (In other words, I don't want to drive it downtown anywhere and I can't make it up muddy driveways/yards).

There's probably room for small things to go the opposite direction.

Only small things coming back... Dang it! I need to get my '56 Dodge truck from Wilcox to.... I dunno... KY, NC... If the dang Army would quit moving me around... LOL

Where in VA?  i'm in NoVa, and have beer, tasty Pupusas and a Jag V12 to stare at, since of course its on an engine stand.

That is how the Army do.

I do have an unassigned tow pig headed east afterwards (but probably not until September-ish) but no trailer for it. I have things to do at the house here, but kinda plan on two trips with the RV+trailer and one with the truck.

New to me house is in Newport News. I've got friends in NoVa and family in SoPa, and I'm not afraid to drive/ride to places.

Now that I think of it, I should have a no trailer pickup headed east probably Septemberish. Willcox is even conveniently on the way. But I can borrow or rent a trailer if need be. It's relatively modern and full-sized. I'd prefer to put an open trailer behind it as they have less drag penalty.

The truck is a non-runner. A project I've had waiting since the early 90s...

Am I the only one who saw this thread and started shopping Craigslist in Norfolk?

The Westy tax is real, but it will fit! I'd be happy to move the Opel or the Jetta. The Fit looks like it has more damage than disclosed.

Uhaul says a tow dolly is $258 and a vehicle trailer is $820.

Prolly not, but I have had some luck getting taller vehicles into shorter places...just deflate the tires.

Close. The internet says a Westy is 6'10" and it's 6'7" to the interior lights in the trailer.

I'm definitely headed through 'Burque on the way out and Springfield, MO on the way back to AZ.

Re: Crapcan relay service

Would any of your trips be close enough to pick up near Wilcox and drop off near Louisville..?
