Topic: Any Kansas City based teams? Or interest to start one?

Shot in the dark since no races very nearby, but I'd like to join a local team if there is one. Willing to travel for races.

Would also attempt a startup with enough interested people, but an equipped and experienced team with room for one more is preferred.

I'm in KC and my qualifications are as follows: I know that you turn left to loosen a bolt and right to tighten one and b) back in the day I got multiple speeding tickets in a 1984 Plymouth Reliant.

Re: Any Kansas City based teams? Or interest to start one?

This is a start. I don't suppose you still have the Reliant?

I'm in Blue Springs and I need to finish building my 68 Mercedes. It's been stripped down, brakes redone. New wheels and tires. Rebuilt carbs. Shifter fixed. New fuel cell. Mostly it needs the cage and wiring.

I live in blue springs and I have wanted to get involved in Lemons for years, but it seems like we're many hours away from the action. I've been working on cars for 25 years. I'd be down to get involved.

I'm 15 minutes from thousand oaks, and I like looking at cars without suffering the repercussions of actually having to own/store it. I saw him post that up and it's an insanely good deal. If you need a hand somewhere/somehow or need an unbiased opinion of it, feel free to reach out.

I'm in the KC area and would also like to be a part of a Lemons effort, if one comes to fruition.

my biggest hurdle is I don't have a car trailer, tow pig. the rest is doable, but you have to get the racecar to the event 8-10 hour drive away minimum.

U-Haul rents trailers if you have a tow vehicle. You could probably even rent a tow vehicle but tow vehicle rental gets expensive when you are talking about that long of a drive.

I'm assuming that car is intended for Lemons, because that's an effort that I could potentially piggy back on.

My other option I have is my 98 Ford Mustang that was my first car in High School.  It's a V6 automatic, that currently doesn't start (some issue with the starter/battery cables most likely).  I want to convert it to a manual, if possible, and run it at some point.  However that project hasn't started yet, and is on the back burner till some house projects are cleared from the garage.

I'd add that Enterprise (and most other rental companies) offer 150/1500 pickups for rent.  They will easily tow a smaller car if you stick to the speed limit.
