I always loved the old 914s

A 914 can be caged. Orca Racing out of Houston/Baton Rouge has raced a 914 in Lemons for a number of races..

They aren’t that hard to cage, I’m doing one right now.

In the past, we've had a TON of 914 swaps: Mazda 12A, Subaru EJ20, Saturn Twin Cam, Buick 4.1L (!), certainly a few more I'm missing mentally, but the one that's done the best? The EASY 908/14 had a non-turbo, base-model Volkswagen ABA 2.0L in it.

I think a TDI swap would be a pretty cool and surprisingly fun setup.

I don't know the name, but they race a Toyota 1.8l Celiaca.

I know that you won’t believe me without pix, but the top does fit back on the car over the cage!
