Topic: Buttonwillow Results / MyLaps.com...

Anybody know if/when the transponder results will make it up on MyLaps.com?

They don't seem to be up yet...  Maybe it has something to do with the "blue" transponders that were used that aren't "real" AMB's?

Re: Buttonwillow Results / MyLaps.com...

Jeez, now you guys are deriving conspiracy theories from the COLOR of the TRANSPONDERS?! You need help. You really do.

In reality, the less-than-48-hour-delay was the result of the timing and scoring folks (who were new, and who also did a great job) not knowing our usual MyLaps procedure. Sheesh.

Re: Buttonwillow Results / MyLaps.com...

Not that anyone cares at this point, but did you realize that you did not get credit for the last lap you did prior to pitting (for fuel/driver change/or the dredded black flags).

Having the lap counter at the start finish/pit road section, and not crossing it because you exited the pits prior, then re-entered the race at the opposite end of pit road... you didn't get credit for the nearly 3 miles of driving on that previous lap.

Sure everyone is in the same 'boat' --- but teams that came in more were penalized and didn't get credit for a completed lap.

This wasn't an issue at Fernley, AMP, or T-Hill.

Re: Buttonwillow Results / MyLaps.com...

Interesting-- we did driver changes every 20-30 minutes, so that means we're docked or 36 or more laps... which could conceivable move us up 15 places or well into the top 1/2. Bummer. Wonder what that does for the actual lead of the race, too. If the BSP team pitted more often than the Yellow Volvo team, then BSP could actually be the winner... Hmm.

Seems like you should never come in then.  Problem solved.

I like it...

For the next race I hope our car last long enough for me to test your theory.

Yeah, we noticed this too, but didn't want to bitch about it until after we were "far away" in both time and geography from the wheel of misfortune... wink

Well, I tried not to, but had to come in for water when I was out, and fuel every few hours.

Plus I took an hour break in the pits-- had lunch, swapped out master cyl and bled the brakes/clutch, standard stuff.

Not knocking the event-- I loved it.  My arms and hands are still pumped up from all the driving!  The track was amazing, and technically we received zero black flags.

Sure wish we would have run higher in the standings, but we missed 2 hours on Saturday, and all of Sunday.  Transmission/differentials don't seem to last much over 2 races in these cars.

Re: Buttonwillow Results / MyLaps.com...

Wow the Black Iron BMW was not the fastest car out there. And quite a few non V8 cars were very close to their time.
So I guess perception of having a fast car is a Bad thing.  Hence the curse.

The Big sausage car had more fuel range than the Volvo by a pretty wide margin.  The Volvo did at least one more stop than the Sausage boys, perhaps 2 or 3.

Re: Buttonwillow Results / MyLaps.com...

So, to get the lap-by-lap breakdown I registered on mylaps using our transponder number.

Not sure if I was supposed to do that, but it's interesting to see our transponder got 10th at Indy.

Hopefully I can change to a new number later...

Huh. I sort of assumed the "no credit until you cross the line" was just how it worked.

Last question:
There weren't many on this race, but do laps on full-course yellow count towards your total?

No, you're weren't.  You can see the results without registering.

Buy your own transponder and you won't have this problem.

Yes, this was a new issue for Lemons.
