Topic: Bad predictions, circa 1961

I just bought a old book on race car drivers ("Men At Speed", published 1961). The opening page tells how heroic race drivers are:

"... he is a figure that gets into our daydreams as a famous movie actor, or orchestra conductor, or baseball player might. But Paul Newman will never have to deal with a tire bursting at 130 MPH..."

Funny they picked PLN as the actor - maybe he read that once and decided to prove them wrong.

I haven't dreamed about an orchestra conductor lately.
