Probably because they (mistakenly) think it will lessen their punishments, Lemons racers keep telling me how much they like my Impala Hell Project series on TTAC. On the off chance that some of you actually read these things, here's Part 9 of the series.
Like I said before, I reminds me of my own mis-adventures about 10 years later in So-cal, only with less motorcycles.
Reminds me a helluva lot of the first vehicle I ever purchased with my own money, a 1977 GMC Suburban. Paid $550 in 1997. She, and I, were both 19 years old at the time.
Phil, your stories give me flashbacks to my old Chevy. Mine was a '67 Chevelle wagon, with more rust than body remaining. 4 months of my senior year in HS and LOTS of chicken wire/Bondo later, she was quite presentable! Anybody sees a '67 Chevelle wagon for sell, lemme know. I haven't seen another one since!

Your Chevelle sounds an awful lot like my Suburban. It had no floor in the back- I put down a sheet of marine plywood and bolted it to the frame, and used angle brackets to hold it to the body. The tailgate was bolted to a PT 4x4. I used to haul lawn tractors in it like that.
