Re: How to value a 'free car'

Man, that car looks nice! Much nicer than my 17-year-old, $1200 daily driver.

Re: How to value a 'free car'

Yep $70 bucks of paint and a bunch of FREE vinyl!!

Thanks!

I wanted to do a Gulf colored Lemons car too.  I did this on photoshop back in'06:

For Christs Sake the guy spent several years and many thousands re-habbing and racing Porsche 914's the  bastard stepchild of Teutonica. He deserves a pass. But emoticons need to be banned. Go Trek, but do not F with the Belvedere

Re: How to value a 'free car'

Thanks, Patrick.

That was quite a first post.
That Belvedere got a slant six?

Re: How to value a 'free car'

318 8 I think.
(My son is one of the drivers and 2 of the other drivers work at Peridot so I am highly biased.) Let's do a Lemons 914 next year.  Has an Aircooled car ever wons Lemons?

The track photo of your POS at Infineon surrounded by Porsches,  alone should qualify you for Lemons. You need to weld some extraneous shit on your roof and parade around with nipple rings so as to fit in better. At the least you need to take a sledge hammer and put real dents in your GT40 between now and Friday so as not to appear too legit. However some would perceive Peoples curse (PC?) as a badge of honor. For a six pack of Fat Tire I promise not to vote for you to be crushed. Additionally,  no matter what your pathetic attempts result in this weekend they will surely pale in comparison to the mighty Faster Farms Team's artful Dodging.

318 8 as opposed to... what, a 318 4? Or maybe a 12?

I used to feel the same way about emoticon until I realized they do serve a purpose, namely conveying sarcasm.  Semicolon P is the difference between ribbing and flaming.

Re: How to value a 'free car'

We do need more Lemons 914s.

Re: How to value a 'free car'

Back to the original post topic, I was given a vehicle to race and I had planned to take some pics as it sits and put it on eBay with a reserve. Whatever the auction ends at is what I value it at, I would document the auction and put it in my portfolio for inspection. Sound acceptable?

Yeah, I cut my XJ teeth there too.  Great place to learn, less BS to weed through and more newb friendly than many off-road forums.  I'm not real active on there anymore, but I still lurk occasionally.  There's even a Lemons thread!

You should have gone with number 777 to match your penalty lap count!

It's a 914 joke. 914-6 guys have a lot bigger equipment than 914-4 guys.

That's top third -- awesome job for your first race.

"This is the scene where I get shot," Bronson said. "I have these little squibs that explode to make it look like bullets are hitting." "Fascinating," said Bergman. "I never knew how they did that." "You mean," asked Bronson, "you don't use machine guns in your movies?"

Wait a sec... an ESCORT actually got BS laps rather than the typical Escort "rolling zero"?
