OK I need help - where to start LOOKING for a cage??  Any companies or local So. Bay Area shops to call or order kits from??

Chris Overzet is a fabricator and Lemons competitor who can build a custom cage: fabtoys@sbcglobal.net. He's in Discovery Bay. 

Ditto Mitch Parella (Berkeley): 1085 Eastshore Hwy, Albany - (510) 526-5003.

Both of those guys will build a cage that is as close you can get to a guaranteed tech-passer.
