Topic: Huge shout out to 'Track Geeks'

Their webcast was great these past two days.

It was fantastic seeing some great trackside footage, interviews and penalties being levied!

Lemons organizers really should get these guys on board for future races.
There were on average 250 viewers at any given time.

The final hour of the race was as good as any race.
They followed the 731 lead car and then the second place 95 car.

Also the interactive chatbox was great fun.
They let us suggest which cars to follow and gave us info on standings 'on demand'.

A crew member from #95 car gave us updates on an oil temp problem they were having in the chat window.

What a blast!
I watched about 12 hours of the race...

Re: Huge shout out to 'Track Geeks'

I would have, but we were wrenching all weekend on the Lamest Day car.  We have less than three weeks and a crapload of work to do.  At least it has a cage now and looks a bit like a race car rather than something we pulled out of a field.

Re: Huge shout out to 'Track Geeks'

this was really good.  What are the chances we might have something like this at lamest day?

I asked in chat, and trackgeeks said it would cost appx 3k to get it done.  Is this something that the Lemons organization will be hving at NL?  Would be awesome.

I thought it was great too. We GOTTA get something like this set up for other races, especially T-Hill! Not just for us Lemons goofballs but for the rest of our out of town friends and families as well. Everyone I know was asking for web-feed coverage at Fernley.

I'm thinking that the so-called Silicon Valley has been 1-upped. You west-coast geeks gonna take that?

Are ya? Huh? Punks? big_smile

Should we hire Trackgeeks? They have shown they have the mettle. Offer them a free turkey dinner for their trouble.

Re: Huge shout out to 'Track Geeks'

I watched both days too. Great coverage, it should be part of every Lemons race.

Re: Huge shout out to 'Track Geeks'

Yeah, I watched it and enjoyed it.  I definitely think the live chat helped make it.  It was good to chat  with others abotu what was going on.

Even if this had to be done PPV style there were over 200 viewers so about 10-15 bux a head, I would have paid that to watch this weekend.

Re: Huge shout out to 'Track Geeks'

+1 for the track geeks.

Not only were they covering the event, but would answer questions and keep the viewers posted on the things/teams that they were asking about in the chat.

We won the IOE at Southern Discomfort.
We got screwed at The Real Hoopties of New Jersey  and we took cars down with us.
We got the curse at Capitol Offense but they wouldn't let us destroy the car.

Re: Huge shout out to 'Track Geeks'

+1 more!

I wasted pretty much the whole day watching Sunday..... while I should have been working on our Lamest Day car!

Coverage of the People Curse would have been cool, but since they didn't really do it anyway, not much was lost.  Great race coming down to the last hour & way more entertaining than anything else on TV yesterday.

The trackgeeks definitely deserve to be supported for the services rendered....imo

Re: Huge shout out to 'Track Geeks'

Thanks for all the great feedback here and in the chatroom!

I want to make sure that we also thank the guys and gal from the Dos Boot team that helped us on Saturday and Sunday. They ran cameras and did interviews. They did a great job. We wouldn't have had nearly as much for you to see without them.

Also thanks to all the team members and the judges that took time to do interviews. All of it came together to make some great entertainment.

We would be happy to cover more events for the fans of Lemons.

Re: Huge shout out to 'Track Geeks'

I watched some and loved it.... They did a great job and the connection seemed much better than last time. Big ups to the Track Geeks!!!

Re: Huge shout out to 'Track Geeks'

There will be a highlights show as soon as I can get one cut together. I'm unpacking everything this morning. I'll post a schedule soon.

For the spring Lemons I cut the show up into pieces and posted it on YouTube. It will show up here - http://www.youtube.com/trackgeeks.

Sorry about that. The period at the end messed it up.

Thanks for the correction.

Did they get my good side?

"This is the scene where I get shot," Bronson said. "I have these little squibs that explode to make it look like bullets are hitting." "Fascinating," said Bergman. "I never knew how they did that." "You mean," asked Bronson, "you don't use machine guns in your movies?"

Re: Huge shout out to 'Track Geeks'

Erik, you did a fantastic job!
