Topic: Free Loctite at Lamest Day from Doing Community Service!

I work for Henkel, the parent company of the Loctite brand, and I wheedled one of my cohorts over in marketing into giving me a bunch of samples to bring to the paddock for the Lamest Day.

Stop by the Doing Community Service paddock space (assuming we get the car running) and grab some. It looks like we'll have 515 instant gasketer, 248 threadlocker, and some assorted CA superglue to hand out. First come, first served!

ps - don't vote us curse! wink

Imagine the penalty possibilities!

Re: Free Loctite at Lamest Day from Doing Community Service!

I thinks the judges should confiscate all of the Loctite for the sake of proper 'sponsor promotion'.

I'm certain they will get some good press out of the correct Lemons usage of the products.

Spud  (but not on our car, please, I'm begging you)

Remember, it's never too early to start embellishing the past.

Oooh, I didn't even think about penalty possibilities....

Erm, I will only hand out samples of superglue. If you need some for a real repair, you will have to ask me and I will personally deliver anything more than a 2g tube/bottle.

BTW, for those JBWelders out there - Loctite ProTip - cyanoacrylate superglue can be used to encapsulate any stray (leaking) oil. This allows the JBWeld to stick to the part you are trying to fix. I have used this technique successfully on oil pans and heads.

Katherine ProTip - when JBWelding large areas (oil pans, who are we kidding here?), cut fibreglas mesh tape to fit the area and stick it to a foil hotdog wrapper. Spread the JBWeld over the mesh tape. After SuperGluing the area to reduce oil contamination (allow CA to cure for at least a minute), apply mesh/foil/JBWeld patch to area, and smoosh into contact. Allow to cure for recommended time. Race.
