Topic: valuing two for one

How do you value a car when the purchase includes a parts car?  I mean obviously we would sell mostly everything on the parts car, and sell the tub for scrap, this would probably bring our cost down to zero.  How is that handled?  One runs, one is yuck.

BTW-I tried to search and came up empty

Re: valuing two for one

Last year I bought a Ford Escort circle track car, it came with a doner street car.  When I told the BS judge that I had bought two cars he simply cut the value in half and then asked me what I had done to the car.  Dunno if that is offical or not but thats how it worked for me.

Re: valuing two for one

It's a gray area once you get into multiple-car deals, which means it's up to the judges' discretion, i.e., what kind of mood we're in at the time. If you've obsessively documented everything (no, that doesn't mean showing us cryptic emails from parts buyers on your damn iPhone), you might be OK. If the cars are Miatas, you're probably screwed.
