The new favorite:
^ Good stuff... I still prefer the 99 Helles... but they only made it for a year and their new Helles isn't as good. Good but not great.
Desert Beer or if I am hungry:
Mmmm....Young's
I will completely raise one with you at Yee Haw this fall. I can't seem to find it in the bottle, but I know where it's on tap....
Hop Slam by Belles Brewery. I believe it is a limited seasonal thing, you can very very rarely find it.

I can get it in the bottle any day but I have yet to sample its delicious goodness from the tap...

From a tap is the only way I've ever had it. It's delicious. There are a couple houston bars that have it. Sounds like a good thursday night before Yee Haw
We're coming out with our own "Blanco Basura" label beer soon. It's been a slow process but our plan has always been to start bringing it to Lemons in masse. We think our beer is best enjoyed with whiskey or tequila, so we're making some of that too...
My apologies to those who wanted to sleep in the pits.
Gots to love Rainier?
Drink what you like , I'm not a "beer snob" I just dont like fizzy yellow swill
for sports drinking: whatever's is the absolute cheapest in terms of per ounce costs. it's often canned keystone ice/light/whatever or the beast milwaukee’s best or coors banquet around my parts. ~33 cents a can (2.75 cents an ounce!). think of all body work you can repair with all that aluminum..
I've recently developed a taste for wheat beers. Any recommendations?
You should be able to find Sunshine Wheat. I think that's one of the better domestic wheats. I'm pretty sure you're blessed with New Belgium in KS (Fat Tire is also a good one to expand with). You might look for O'Dell beers, Flying Dog does well with a Belgian style yeast, and Great Divide if you're feeling adventurous for some hops. Some of the stronger beers like to age, but wheat beers are typically good fresh so regional choices will be nice. The large can varieties in my garage for the same reason
Other good choices off the top of my head of the European Variety- Koenig-Ludwig Weiss, Paulaner, Erdinger, HackerPschorr, Hoegaarden. Best way to have one of the Belgian Wit style is with a good German sausage and eggs for breakfast. I have a beer and food pairing book where this guy raved about it from his travels. I thought he was crazy until I tried it. Money.
Thanks, 'Foo. So far I've only had Boulevard and Blue Moon but I'll for sure looks those suggestions up.
KIlt Lifter from Moylans.....it's so good it's food.
Tried this the other day and was quite satisfied with it.
I'll drink most anything, but these are my favorites off the top of my head: Bell's Two-Hearted Ale, Goose Island Matilda, New Glarus Spotted Cow (only distributed in WI, if I'm not mistaken; worth the trip), anything from Lagunitas, Carlsberg, most any German lager, Labatt Blue, Great Lakes' Edmund Fitzgerald porter and Burning River IPA, North Coast's Old Rasputin Stout, and whatever my friends/relatives are homebrewing.
If I'm on a budget, I'll drink PBR, Old Style, Old Milwaukee, or Schlitz; they all taste more or less the same.

+1

Franziskaner. Or Bell's Oberon if you can get it.
After reading this entire thread I'm amazed at the number of people who actually spoke highly of the piss water that is Yuengling.
Some how we ended up with mass quantities of Trouble Brewing's Ale super cheap (7 bucks a case). I don't know where it came from but it's tasty enough for garage/pit beer. Plus the bottles are kinda appropriate.
After last year's trip to Louisiana, Abita has become a staff favorite (and a good bribe!)
helpful hint: they also come in pony kegs....currently the satsuma witbeer is the limited release, though I *highly* recommend the Abbey Ale currently in large bottle format.
They also do limited keg releases you can only get at a few select locations. Abita Select. Most recent one I had was the Imperial Pilsner which was damn good...and now gone.
They also do food/beer pairings with a few local restaurants
We've got a number of other breweries popping up as well. Keep an eye out for NOLA Brewery next time you're in the area.
Oh, and staples:
High Life is typically the cheap beer of choice. Miller Lite with lime is better than bd light with lime.
Fuller's E.S.B. Or Brooklyn Ale when eating
Monschoff Schwartz Beer when I'm *drinking* (thanks deutches haus bartender)
the list continues from there
-Tom
Whatever is on special.
Alternately, Guinness, Newcastle, some of the Bell's stuff. If I am in a situation where they are serving a house brew or something weird I will give it a shot. (I'll try any porter or stout, and the other day I was in a Polish restaurant in Hamtramck and I ordered the one beer the waitress named with an incomprehensible name).

Leinenkugel makes some awesome ones. Sunset Wheat and Summer Shandy off the top of my head. Sunset Wheat tastes like fruity pebbles, no joke! Paulaner Hef is one of my personal favs, too.
seis amigos...
