Ultimately THAT failed.   HARD.   

SO after fucking around with that method for a while, the engine removal was performed with a piece of pipe, and two ̶d̶u̶m̶b̶a̶s̶s̶e̶s̶  team mates:

I begged (and begged) the previous owner of this car to sell it to us for over TWO YEARS.   Eventually, they realized that the car was either destined for the crusher OR could live on as a Future Legend of Lemons

The deal was made for everything except the engine.   Not a problem for us - the engine from the RX2 is mostly 13B REW except it is ported and with an NA rotating assembly / rotors.  The engine gets reunited with a 3rd gen RX7 and it would be a crime not to turbocharge it for good measure.

It IS a legitimate sub $500 car.   However, received this from Jay regarding our RX2 replacement:
