Speedy, if you can make Gingerman I'll give you a drive either an hour each day or two hours saturday. Its the least we can do after you pushed us into the pits at the end of the race last year.

To sweeten the pot Speedy, I would give you my Sunday stint in the Celica as well. If you can get to gingerman, my seat on Sunday is yours.

Between these incredibly generous offers, and Spinetti's most kind offer via email, I gotta find a way to make it to Gingerman. Anybody flying in for that race that would want to share a rental car?

Re: Effing Gubment furloughs, and Race Watchers diet plan

I'm in a little different situation. I'm a full-time Air Force reservist, currently deployed overseas. Normally, during the week I'm a civilian employee of the Air Force, doing the same job I do on the weekends, but right now I'm getting active duty pay and entitlements. Right before I left, I signed on the dotted line to switch career fields, which means a 10% reduction in pay but more chances to get higher paying civilian jobs. Now I'm getting a 20% haircut on top of it (we're losing TWO days per pay period). The upside is I'm overseas until May, so hopefully it will all get ironed out before I get back.

Re: Effing Gubment furloughs, and Race Watchers diet plan

The new "trickle-down".

Lemons racers lose jobs
Racers can no longer afford to enter races
Jay loses money
Track workers get less work
Phil loses writing gigs about Lemons
Fewer people visit car blogs
Less advertising money
Fewer people buy concessions at race tracks
Concession workers lose money
Jay's escort service and substance dealers have to cut back
Reduced spending on inflatable sex dolls for mounting on race cars

Economy goes into downward death spiral

Oh, the humanity!

Normally I'd say do this - but since I've already entered, I'm going to say don't do this. NO COMPETITION!

Seriously though. I've always wanted to race gingerman, too bad it's just so damn far...

This makes me sad. Speedycop is the reason I was drawn into Lemons. I've never seen someone try so hard to fix a car to get it back on the racetrack only to have it start on fire after a couple of laps. Last years race had the bowling alley. This type of lunacy is what I love about these guys. I may not have a fast car for Gingerman but if you want a ride in the Special K come and see me.

+1 I usually have no problem ranting about politics, but I know my opinions are in the minority and I'll end up pissing off people I'd rather hang out and drink beer with when the track is cold.

Re: Effing Gubment furloughs, and Race Watchers diet plan

Speedy.. that really sucks.  I only met you once when you were dressed up as the blueman group at Sears Pointless last year, and it is teams like yours that really help make Lemons want is it.  I was watching your team suffer through putting on the costume.. and I was like shit.. all I do is mess up my hair and throw on a vest that took me a few hours to make.  Then work on a spitfire that is about as simple as a go kart (which I only understand because my pops helps me)

I was all smiles watching you guys screw with people driving around normal cars in the pits. That theme was epic.

I cant do much but say.. hope you find your way to keep on keeping on.

Sorry to hear of people suffering.

Some of wish we were in a position to be furloughed, but race anyways.

Now, on to politics:

How many of you were like me and were hoping to be able to vote for Obama as the first Black Muslim Pope born in Kenya? I smell a theme....

Worse still, why no Bacon Smoke?!

And we wonder why they have banned the dangerous homemade technology award, pit bikes, and other levels of idiocy.  How we have all managed to make it this far never ceases to amaze me.  Looks like we have to come up with new levels of stupidity.
