Topic: How thick should seat adapter plate be?

Got a corbeau seat, planning to stop by the metal supply shop and pick up a steel plate to adapt the factory mount points to the new seat.

The design is simple. The 4 factory studs form a rectangle that's about 15" wide and 16" long. The adapter plate is going to be about 17" wide and 19" long so that we have room to put in harness attachment points.

We used 3/16" steel for our seat attachment points. 1/8 seemed a little too flexible
for what we were trying to do. I don't think there specs as far as adapter plates for seats. Mainly you want to make sure your adapter plate won't twist or flex under stress. Use grade #8 washers, bolts, and nuts in these areas if you can afford them.
They are quite expensive but a lot cheaper than broken seat or driver. Good Luck.

Cool, 3/16" it is.

Thought about 1/4, but that pushed the stock plate I bought from hefty to massive.
