Topic: How many cubits long was the ark? the rain is coming!

Yep. line up your crapheaps, two by two, bring your oars, its a gonna rain!

The storm(s) are piling up off the coast and they will hit TH tomorrow with a decent amount of precipitation...

Buy your wiper blades now, the parts stores and Walmart in Willows are bound to run out.

Looking outside right now, its beautiful, 65 degrees and sunny...

But wait!  It never rains in California.

Gosh, my business card says 'Tech Tyrant'

Sweet, it's like a home-court advantage for those of us who ran in the rain at Portland.  Bring on the storms!

Re: How many cubits long was the ark? the rain is coming!

Hopefully the paddocks don't turn to muck like they did at Nelson Ledges.  We got a ton of rain and it made quite a mess.

Here's a suggestion for everybody.  Go to a contractor supply store and buy the big yellow rubber boots that the cement guys wear.  If it's muddy, wear them over your driving shoes until you are ready to climb into the car.  You don't want to ruin your driving shoes and it's a bad idea to have mud on the pedals of your crap heap.  We had two pairs that we'd wear between the paddock and the hot pits.  6"+ deep mud will trash driving shoes very quickly.

Most of the Thunderhill paddock is paved.  It's an amazing facility

Re: How many cubits long was the ark? the rain is coming!

We were at a NASA race at Texas World Speedway in College Station, TX this spring.

The paddock had a good 6-8 inches of water, you damn near need hip waders.  This was the paved par of the paddock.

I think the garages even had standing water.  It may have just been canals between the garages.  We could have jet skied through the paddock.

The tunnels flooded and a guys very fancy AMG failed it's swimming lesson though the tunnel before they closed them.

The timing loop even had issues which were attributed to all the water.

Since it was warm enough, shorts and sandals were the choice with a poncho.

I just remember in Toledo last year you didn't so much pull your car into your paddock spot as you "docked". we made lots of new acquaintances seeing as we were at the "shallow" end of the lake/paddock. on the track though through the front-ish kinda straight it was more akin to trying to pilot a speedboat through venice...with out the italian vocal track.

You FinalGear guys were at Nelson, weren't you? The paddock (especially down at our end) quagmire was way worse than anything here, and I'm still finding mud on my truck a month and a half later.

When basically every car coming around you has to be pushed out of their paddock space and the walk to the port-a-shitter requires wading through 8" mud, you know it's pretty deep.

I must admit it was entertaining as hell pulling out 4x4s with my little 6-cylinder 2-wheel drive Dodge, even though, as one Ford driver I snatched pointed out, I've got better 4-wheel drive than anybody else on account of my dual rear wheels. http://crownvic.us/forum/images/smilies/new/teehee.gif

yeah, technically the vic has been run 4 races now, but the finalgear association is no more after nelsons. we also ran the now-infamous #24 Buick and were parked on the high side of that quagmire almost directly across from you guys. it totally reminded me of the Indy 500 before they drained the snake pit and put in the F1 track!

I had to cheer for you guys every time i saw the caddy leaving the paddock! And i think i saw you yanking out a few of those hoons out when we were packing up.
