Topic: ...and so it begins, We must be out of our minds

Scored our Lemons steed last night...I know this might be hard to get past the BS judges but it really was free....as a matter of fact the guy gave me $50 & two shitty Lite beers to haul it off

We have a crew of warped individuals , some bfh's , we arent whiners or dicks and $500 green American dollars. Hope to be in the show at CMP in May

I present Wuddy

Yes...that is a bullet hole

Re: ...and so it begins, We must be out of our minds

Awesome! Did it come with the free shrubs for your house too? There is a special place in my heart for odd wagons. Theme?

Re: ...and so it begins, We must be out of our minds

Huf...

I think our theme will "fit the spirit" of the event as we are all suitably warped .I'm not quite ready to reveal that yet as we are (obviously  I mean LOOK at that steaming dungheap!) in the early stages of prep.

I've posted the Lemons rules and FAQ's in the shop and we have all had pre-emptive tetanus shots.  I'm going to evict the family of opossums from the car this afternoon.. Assuming I dont end up being bitten by one of the rabid little bastiges I'll update as we progress.

Re: ...and so it begins, We must be out of our minds

That is one nice piece of S... It is Awesome!
I would have taken the fifty bucks and bought more beer and just sat in the field and stared at the car until I was toasted.
I know you guys have already got a Fabulous theme for it.
If not you could do a Brady Bunch Theme, That Seventies show Theme.
Jeez that car is just asking to be whipped around the track. Good luck.

I can see her from my office window...Izzit wrong that I giggle like a little kid every time I look out at it?

We even ran through Burger King with it on the trailer last night , I could see the "why?" in the eyes of everyone that saw it

Re: ...and so it begins, We must be out of our minds

Considering its $hitty condition, and the foliage, I can't get past thinking your theme should be:

Shinto is an ancient Japanese religion. Starting about 500 BCE (or earlier) it was originally "an amorphous mix of nature worship, fertility cults, divination techniques, hero worship, and shamanism."

Re: ...and so it begins, We must be out of our minds

I think you over paid.  Good luck.

Re: ...and so it begins, We must be out of our minds

I swear i saw that awesomness or another one for sale and was hoping someone picked it up.

Re: ...and so it begins, We must be out of our minds

I'm in Georgia Mike ,

Judging from what we had to go through to pull this heap out of the mud I'm kinda doubtful it was ever listed for sale in TX . Got it through a friend of a friend who was quite happy to be rid of it after having it rusting in his back field for a dozen years or so,

Re: ...and so it begins, We must be out of our minds

You do know there are better POS cars out there, right?

We are the people your parents warned you about.

There's another Pinto that races at CMP. Your challenge: to beat Team Beaver Hunt Racing!

Re: ...and so it begins, We must be out of our minds

"Better POS "  ??  Better than a PINTO? Bahh, surely you jest!!

I'm sure there are better POS's to run  but this is OUR POS and it was free....and we have large power tools and eveeel plans..and what could be cooler than thrashing a Pinto "Squire"?

Murilee, we, "The Men From Nantucket" accept the challenge to try to  beat Team Beaver Hunt, or at least get a picture with them on track at speed for the awesome..

If you come to Texas or Louisiana, you might get the chance to race against the Bayou Degradable Pinto (which blew up on lap numero uno at the last MSR race).

Out here in California, Pinto pride is upheld by the Family Truckster, which finished 130th at the last Arse Freeze.

Re: ...and so it begins, We must be out of our minds

Awesome! Those are goin on the wall of the shop tonight!

I'd like to think we can aspire to such grand heights...I'm not sure we can match the fabulous bit of kludgetastic exhaust engineering on the Bayou Degradable entry but we shall attempt to add our mark in the annals (or anuses?..or is it anni ? ) of storied Pinto Wagon Racing history

Re: ...and so it begins, We must be out of our minds

I had a Pinto wagon with a manual transmission, My boss sold it to me,.... Now that I think about it, He gave it to me!,, A real improvement over the MG`s I had been driving, I loved that car, I beat shit out of it, and we both enjoyed it! I cant remember what happened to it, Must have been one of the times I fell off the planet....

Re: ...and so it begins, We must be out of our minds

Looks like it's ready for a 302!

Re: ...and so it begins, We must be out of our minds

Be still my heart.

It's Lemons perfection.

What happened to them, anyway?  Saw 'em go around a few times and then never saw them again, in the pits or on the track.
Did they hit a pinto eating black hole?

They were paddocked across from us at the Arse-freeze.  I know that the cylinder head spent a lot of time on the workbench, and I recall seeing the car run again on Sunday, but I don't know what took them back out of the race so soon.  I hope to see them next time...
