Was about to start the same thread...Team Bad Decisions is in.
I am also helping the remnants of the Smokey Saturn team get their car up to 2014 specs and a refreshed motor.
Last year they "reserved" spots with shore power. I will be having one of those but would still love to have a THREE Saturn paddock. Anyone feel up to hitting the track up for details?
I will not be driving this time around so tell the "Old Man" Wally-the-not--so-wonder-dog and I will be keeping him company the whole race.
I hope to see Apocalyptic with an ill-advised engine swap and Postal Fail with their constant battle with basic reliability in an fairly "simple" German economy car.
Maybe we will get lucky and see the re-powered Moonrunners Saturn. Because what could make more sense that Saab power in a plastic fantastic.
We'll be there. Both cars are accepted. We hope to not blow something up with the Metro, and we will have the E30 running around. Gingerman has been tough for us. We've won an IOE there, but we haven't placed higher than 5th overall... We always seem to have an incident or a breakdown.
Hopefully we can present some sort of challenge in B.
Apocalyptic will not be there too much to do and not enough time to do it all right.
A few of us will be attending as arrive and drives.

That sucks. I really like chasing you around the track.
White Trash Racing is planning on being there. Unless the real Apocalypse comes.
The purple escort of the Wonderment Consortium will be there.

Sorry, Mike, we're actually going to be sitting this one out too. I'm getting married the 17th and the foot came down mighty early that I was not, under any circumstances, to even think about scheming a way to get behind the wheel of ANY racecar that weekend.
We'll be back at Gingerman in 2015, almost certainly with an ill-advised drivetrain swap.

If any of your guys want to race anyway, I am about 90% sure the Smokey Saturn will end up with at least one empty seat. The new "owner" claims to have a bunch of guys on the hook but when it comes time to pay, I would bet he still is at least one short.
Also, if any of them just want an excuse to come hang out in the pits, drink beer and be fed, all are welcome.
I forgot to ask if Rachel appreciated her early wedding gift of 5 gallons of gas. I am sure it will be a treasured memory.
Festiva is in, and hopefully we can get it back to it's old performance level.

Can't believe you didn't factor in the Lemons races in when picking wedding dates!
Team Tokyo Thrift is in!
Excited for our first Lemons venture.
The Dusturd will be there again, racing for ~30 minutes and then wrenching for the rest of the weekend.

You can keep Junk Dynasty company.

I hear they will be fed well if they do...but who will keep them company for the 30 minutes tehy are running?

I'll let them know, and I'll remind Rachel to get you a card. Hahaha, that would not go over well.

Well, we had originally selected the weekend prior to the race, but had to move it back due to hall availability. As we got engaged at a Lemons race, I thought it would be no problem to bring it full circle and hope into a hooptie IMMEDIATELY after the wedding, but for once, she isn't seeing things the same way.

FTFY
They do that, time and time and time again.
To paraphrase an old wise person: Men get married expecting the woman will never change. Women get married expecting to change the man.
I'll be in the EXP once again, looking forward to it!

Have the wedding at the race and kill 2 birds with one stone! Won't need to rent a hall; tons of extra family members to help wrench on the car; etc. Plus, extra gifts from all of the other racers!
The OneLapForDogs team with our class B 97 VW Golf dog bone car will be there. This is our first time racing here, so be patient with us!

Tell her I will send Princess Buttercup, aka Wally, up as a flower girl. He is secure enough in his manhood to play the role.

Me too! This should be a fun race.
Fishah -- what was up with the Festiva? I figured something was up when I was passing you and not the other way around.....

Dunno
We had a severe lack of power at low RPMs, and at very high RPMS. Seemed like it was missing a lot. As the night set, we lost our ability to run the car at all without it shutting itself off randomly. Phantom electrical issues I've got some ideas of how to fix, but we'll see. Electricity is black-magic as far as I'm concerned, and the team-mate who wired my car lives 1500 miles away now.
We were about 5 seconds per lap off the pace that we set last year at Autobahn.
The purple escort of the Wonderment Consortium will be there.
I don't like your tone. Its almost like you're implying the other 2-3 cars won't get their act together and/or have drivers.
Also I am upset with your steadfast resolve on me not painting your car.
Just kidding, still love you.

You might enjoy my most recent discoveries in the ongoing investigation as to why the Quantum doesn't dominate quite as much as it should:
During practice day at Autobahn, the front passengers side engine wiring harness got a little hot. It appeared as though only the outer sheathing had melted, leaving the wires within intact- presumably. Post race dissection indicated to the contrary- the MAF and wastegate solenoid wires (9 in total) were more or less shorted to one another (and possibly the headlights as well). Despite this, the car ran OK-ish for the race (low/medium levels of boost, didn't blow up).
I finally wired up a couple gauges (tach and boost-- we've never had any) to continue troubleshooting the above problem...
In passing, I had wondered about the ECU's ability to self regulate (aka a "REV LIMITER")-- but had never given it much thought, as it appeared to work kinda how a rev limiter should (which, in retrospect, is difficult to asses by sound alone). Definitely not the case: our only rev limiter for the past 3 races has been the laws of physics.
With the tach 'upgrade', I was somewhat unnerved by the ease that the gauge would absolutely fucking bury the tach needle.
I can easily wrap the needle around to 0 RPM. I'm guessing the car has seen several hours above 8500 RPM.
Damn you deceptively short gearing....

I like the purple. Do you know how long it takes to paint glitter on a car from 5oz arts and crafts cans?
