Truth be told, this is the 4th hard top that Ive wanted to buy, but for one reason or another, didn't get to buy.
More cage work...
Installed new rotors, Hawk DTS pads. and Russell stainless steel brake lines.

AND - the Navigator has been painting this morning:
Installed the dash and discovered the blower assembly wouldn't go back in the car without considerable - persuasion.
Anytime you get to take a sawzall to your car its a good day.
Had to amputate the air mixer assembly but I got the blower back in.
Almost stock:
Installed water temp and oil pressure sensors to run my Longacre Idiot Lights (supply your own idiot).
Filled differential with Redline 75W90.
Filled trans with redline MT90.
Modified stock turn signal and headlight stalks to work with the quick release wheel. Need working blinkers and stuff for Mexico.
Bled the brake system.
Left the car looking like it got parked in a bad neighborhood:
Next going to start wiring in the Terratrip intercom, rally computer, and Automatic Fire Suppression System...
It did get left in a bad neighborhood.
WHY don't car manufacturers make working vent windows anymore?
Well, we have fixed that! Should be very useful for keeping cool and blowing the pages of the route book around.
Navegante painted the inside of the car - the floor and inside of the doors. I mounted the idioto lights in the instrument cluster and will wire them up when the paint dries.
Mounted and wired up the intercom.
Also mounted up the exhaust and wired up the Terratrip. Will need to permanently mount it - when the paint dries.
Springfield Dyno exhaust is IN. Had to massage it just a bit to get it in place. Sounds like shit but POWAHHH!!
Car starts up easily and runs great with no apparent oil or water leaks! The car idles a little fast - but I'm sure that's because I removed the cam position sensor and didn't mark its orientation. I'll have to put a timing light on it.
Next big thing I'm tackling is mounting the fire suppression system.

^^^ Took it out for Sonic Cherry Limeaid. Runs good but need to chase down a few rattles and an oil leak.
That piece of shit looks less like a piece of shit!
Turns out the Miata wasn't guilty of oil leakage. I think it was unjustly accused and another offender leaked in the shop.
I left the car overnight and no sign of oil. Anywhere on the ground.
Pretty good for what I can tell is a 208,000 mile original engine that USED to leak like no tomorrow. I'm really bringing a knife to a Nuclear War.
I have the fire suppression system wired in. I'm tired.

Been fighting clunks, clanging, and rubbing under the car - the Springfield Dyno "Spec Miata" exhaust is simply shit. Worst $300 you can spend. Its a short flange with a single magnaflow muffler and a tailpipe that dumps behind the axle.... and they can't get that right. I know no one would install it to a street car but if you're planning it for a race car - DON'T.
Installed it to a stock downpipe and it rubbed the frame. Bent it slightly and it rubbed the driveshaft. - and rubbed the differential. - and rubbed the axle.
Took it to the muffler shop and got mean with it. installed two more brackets and pounded on the floor pan to make it more custom!
Thought the car was looking nice so I took a picture!
One more week to get it ready!

Mounted the Terratrip closer to the Navigator so they can reach it belted in.
^^^ WINDOWS! - with NASCAR door bars! Who'd have thunk it? They keep the rain out on the trailer and overnight. Hopefully they discourage some of the souvenir hunters too when the car is unattended.
They mount secure enough that you could turn on the AC and cruise around in comfort. Unfortunately, they don't roll down. They lift out in seconds so you can race!
^^^ Inside view of the window bracket. The yellow thing on the door is the emergency belt cutter. We tested it on an old harness and it made short work of it.
Looking really good. Do you have a spot for the cooler? I mean, if you're serious about racing...
I'm hoping that the car stays running long enough that there isn't time to hit the cooler.
