Topic: Racing suits

I guess I would like the pros and cons of 2 piece race suits versus 1 piece race suits

Re: Racing suits

Biggest con I've found on a one piece is when its hot outside. You pretty much have to roll the top down and tie the arms arounnd your waist....and it still falls down constantly!

Re: Racing suits

A 1 piece will protect your arse better as you scramble out of your flaming sled.  Skin grafts on the torso would suck.

Re: Racing suits

2 piece:
Pro: can be mixed and matched so long legs can be matched to a fatass
Pro: often (slightly) cheaper
Con: When someone is pulling you out of your burning car, the jacket can ride up and expose your lower back and gut to the fire (or sharp fragments of metal/glass from the accident)
Con: They can ride up as you get in, also exposing your back

1 piece:
Pro: Looks a bit more 'pro'
Pro: Safer (see above)
Con: Usually a little more expensive
Con: More difficult to share across multiple drivers if you go that way to save cash.
