Topic: Best noise-canceling or noise-blocking earphones?

I've decided it's time to invest in some real noise-canceling/blocking earphones. Our car is relatively loud inside and as most of our team has poor hearing and doesn't notice. However it bothers me a lot, especially over the course of a two-hour stint and I'd like to do something. So far I've been using some Sony iPod earphones which fit great but don't really do all that much to block out the noise. I'd like to to get some real pro-racer earbuds, preferably ones with 30+ db of blocking and some noise-canceling properties as well. Price is really not an issue as long as they are less than say $200 and if they are a custom-made style I need to be able to get them in time for Sears Pointless. Any suggestions?

FYI since there has been some confusion I am looking for earphones with a stereo jack to plug into our existing radio system, not earplugs or a whole new radio system.

We have used this setup for five or six races and they work great with no break downs.  Also, the speed shop at Sears has the same ear buds but at a higher price(around $100).  Ask for the racers discount.

Suppose I need to be more specific, I need earphones that have a stereo jack and can plug into our existing radio system, not earplugs or a whole radio system.

I don't use them, but these are what you are looking for.

We got screwed at The Real Hoopties of New Jersey  and we took cars down with us.
We got the curse at Capitol Offense but they wouldn't let us destroy the car.

I've seen those but they seem pretty poor-quality and don't noise-cancel which is what started me on my search to see if there is something better out there.

You're looking for an active noise canceling system?

Yes, something like that though if I could find something that wasn't custom-made that would be better.

Or something that really keeps the sound out. Just trying to save my ears from any more damage.

Visit www.sampsonracing.com.  They have what they called "semi custom" ones that fit "most".  They likely have those in stock about $155 IIRC.
