Topic: Gator-o-rama 2010 BBQ

Substandard Racing would like to invite everyone at Gator-o-rama 2010 to come partake in some BBQ Saturday night at 7:00.  We will have a trailer grill and entirely too much meat and beer for one poor team to consume on their own, though don't fault us for trying.  HEB meat sales FTW!!  Just follow the crappy little Gremlin dressed up as a spaceship.  See you guys on the track and good luck to all!!!

We're going to have a proper Lemons Chili Cookoff at the Gator-O-Rama. More info when we figure out the rules and stuff. For now, everyone should just plan on making some chili. You Texans are supposed to be good at chili, right?

Proper?!?  Is anything really "proper" in Lemons?
And now I have to go make chili too.  Can't show up for a competition without actually competing.  But Chili? So last week.  Gotta find something better to compete with or some wrench to throw in.  Maybe penalties for splatter or laps for too many beans.  Can't show up to something as wild as Lemons and make food as pedestrian as chili.  Plus the port-o-poties are bad enough by the end of the weekend.

Chili... pedestrian? Where the hell are you from? Chili can be a phenomenal food with flavors as intricate as some fine beers. Pedestrian... BAH!!!

I like that plan.  I shared the chili cookoff idea with my team and everyone had a question mark over their head.  None of us have ever cooked chili so you'll get the finest chili Google can find.  As for BBQ, we got that covered.

I concede that fact, chili can be quite a taste treat.  However, auto racing is a phenomenal sport that can be as inticate as the finest brewmeisters recipe, but we're in Lemons.  Make it go balls to the tire walls with whatever industrial adhesives and sheet metal we have laying around.  If it doesn't work, we'll MAKE it work with the application of blunt force and JB weld.

Our race happens to fall on Cook-Off weekend no less.

To the Judges or anyone unfamiliar with the event.  Picture a parking lot bigger than the entire MSR complex at a major sporting venue lined up with huge tents and smokers.

While many grills/smokers in Texas are listed for sale by axle capacity.  There are some folks who prefer to eliminate a tow rig and just drive the thing by itself.

Many of these huge cooking machines will be at Reliant for the Cook-Off during our race.

Regarding chili, I'm with Komododave.  We'll see what we c an come up with though.

Assistance will always be lovely.  It's a frickin big trailer grill, so if you wanna toss some meat on, be my guest.  I'm going to have brisket, ribs, pork loin, chickens, turkeys, and of course good ol hambergers cookin away for most of the weekend.  If you wanna toss some cash our way, we'll be open to donations during the weekend or paypal.  My email is coralcayaqua@yahoo.com.  I'm hoping this BBQ shindig is pretty big.  I want to meet more of all you guys since I've been following Lemons for years but only now have the funds to do so.
