Topic: Sears Pointless - I think we're in good shape.

Teammate and fellow Killer ZomBee Pilot Peter "Gargamel" Secor (formerly of the infamous 1200 penalty lap Dead Smurfs) summed up our Sunday afternoon best with this summary on his blog;

"Alas, the engine that served us well through a couple races and several barrel rolls finally wheezed out its last the other day. Today was engine surgery time, and the steady hands of Pete and Jesse excised the old lump and started performing replacement surgery. Two weeks to go, hope we make it!"

It's amazing how much lighter the car is without a starter, alternator or motor. We simultaneously began thinking of giant rubber bands, JATO rockets and of course Rodents on Steroids.

Hypothetical question: Would said rodents be subject to doping tests?

How about Flintstone foot power? Yabba Dabba Do!

That photo makes me think that there is no way that this race series could exist without Harbor Freight.

Not a chance it would last without them, and pick and pulls.

The Miatas have fired the first warning shot. Rumor has it one of them used a Gremlin to launch an Escort onto the back of our MGB bretheren down south.

The Axis of evil must be stopped.

We found out that one of our four cylinders had very low compression last monday and pulled out the offending piston that night.  The power failure in Palo Alto on Wednesday (Tesla plane crash) had us off work at 9:00 am so we had the car running again that evening.  We were unwilling to check the offending cylinder again since we weren't going to do anything further to fix it...

Jeez guys, obviously I was adjusting the freeze plugs. They just needed about one quarter turn each to get that motor purring.

Aren't BMC freeze plugs made of pewter and sealed with a mixture of pitch and oakum?

Ha!  Only if you fall for the speculative fiction they print in their shop manuals to ensnare the colonists and the unwary.  In point of fact the plugs are made from the workers' lunch wrappings and sealed with an unwavering faith in the monarchy.

I was going to drop a V8 into my BGT and give it a Sebring kit, but had a change of heart and decided to restore it instead. Sold off all the V8 parts just before I learned of this crazy Lemons world, DOUGH!

Killer ZomBee would kick ass with a V8. Hmmm...

They're made from the bottoms of empty Guinness cans out of the skip behind the Longbridge canteen and come pre-perforated to let you know the water pump's working, like an outboard...

You know, like the water circulates until the pump pushes out every last drop of coolant and the engine fuses into a solid mass of metal
